Great coffee shop! Lots of space to study. Easy parking situation. Clean bathrooms. Excellent espresso based drinks. Wish there were some more food options. They roast their own beans. Will be visiting this shop very often.
This establishment has been serving the Fondren neighborhood in Jackson,MS for ten years or more. I enjoy stopping there when I am in the neighborhood. There use to be a good health food store next door. I usually have Captain Gabriel, which is there brand using chocolate. The cafe is also divided up into sections where in one of them you can study and listen to the music separate from the rest of the customers. There are also books to read and good art.
Want a shop over the big bad mermaid? This is an option if you are in Jackson. Coffee is roasted in Mississippi. Coffee knowledge varies by barista, but get the right one and s/he can make great recommendations. The one issue that I have with this place is that each store still uses Styrofoam cups. I cannot stand a place that still uses Styrofoam as it does not biodegrade and cannot be recycled. Further, the cost differences in Styrofoam and paper are negligible. It is nothing...
