Visited the Fairview for my birthday dinner with friends and my wife and I stayed also.

Service was as always, exceptional. Shelby and the other sweet girl were both amazing. They helped make our dinner feel special and cared to us extremely well. They even helped to several photos of the group in front of the Christmas tree.

We’ve had many great experiences here, but they made it one of the best.

My coworker and I visited this place while in town on business. I love the concept. It’s an old house, looks like an old plantation house, turned into a restaurant/bar. When you drive up the front of the house has the big white columns and lots of windows. It definitely looks like a place that used to own slaves. I found a staircase while looking for the bathroom that was hidden and figured that was for the “help.” The dining area is not very spacious, but it went along with the theme. Our table was super close to the others around it, you had no choice but to get to know your neighbors. I got a drink recommended by our server. It was so good, but I can’t remember the name or her name. We had just eaten, so we didn’t get food, but our neighbors seemed to be enjoying their food. The service was amazing here. Everyone was so gracious and kind. Everyone was dressed professionally and seemed to enjoy themselves. Our drinks came out super fast too. I explored the space a bit to find a restroom. That’s when I saw that little staircase. The bathroom was cute and clean. The house looked a bit like a museum. I’d go back again to at least have a chance to try some food.

The food is really disappointing! A few years ago it was decent, but now it’s not worth the price. I recently ordered crostinis with goat cheese, red peppers and sardines. The bread was cold, and the lukewarm sardine fillets were oddly suspended on top of charred red pepper slices. A single cilantro leaf was placed on top. The dish not only looked unappetizing, but sad because you could tell whoever came up with it was attempting something fancy. It was not worth the $13 or so I paid for it. Right now, this place is only worth it for the drinks.

If you're looking for a quaint space to really have a great conversation with a friend or an intimate dinner or lunch, this place has the atmosphere to enhance that. It's a hidden oasis located in the downtown area of Jackson,

This is a tiny restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The library/Southern writers theme is a nice touch. Definitely a perfect venue for the book worm or literature buff in your life. The dinner menu is excellent and the drinks are wonderful. I recommend getting reservations if possible because the seats fill up quickly! Also, while not necessarily a "dress-up" kind of place, it definitely caters to the business casual, professional types.

We went here last night for a Saturday night girls’ night and had a party of 6. As soon as we walked up, we were impressed with the presentation, atmosphere, and the vibes of the library lounge and the hotel. We were seated immediately and our server was Taja! She was super personable and fun, and she did a great job. The drinks were all delicious and we enjoyed all of the drinks. Although, at about 9:30pm after only one of us had ordered an espresso martini and the bar said they couldn’t make anymore of them which seemed too early in the night for that. We ordered a few appetizers, the first of which was the pimento cheese “beignets” which were amazing!! We expected the rest of the food to follow suit. The charcuterie board was decent, the truffle fries were almost plain French fries with one or two cheese sprinkles on them, and we got the dessert sampler which was a huge disappointment. We ordered the crème brûlée, brownie, key like pie, and peach cobbler to be in the sampler and we got the brownie, red velvet cake, a cookie (?), and something that looked like white cake with green jelly icing on it (key lime pie?), and Taja said that the kitchen told her to essentially “take it or leave it”. One of the girls in the group recognized the cookie as being from Whole Foods, so I would not be surprised if everything came from a grocery store cookie, cupcake, or brownie.

All of that to say, I would still suggest you check out this cool spot, but I would not take a chance on any of the food except the pimento cheese “beignets”.

The owner is rude and obnoxious. When they’re following a medical school reunion, and the owner could not have been more unpleasant.
