I booked a reservation for my boyfriend and I a week before the date. On the website, the reservation link sends you to Open Table. All of the regular tables and high top seats were taken so I opted to reserve bar seats. Upon arrival, we got the valet parking. When speaking with the host about our reservation, she explained that all the bar seats were taken and that they are “first come first serve.” This did not make any sense to me simply because we made a reservation. She then said we could sit in the lounge or cigar bar which are NOT what I reserved.

Another hostess walked up and explained that their system shuts down sometimes and with open table they lose information. Which once again made no sense to me. As I confirmed the reservation the day before. We decided to leave and as we were leaving she then told us a high top table will be ready soon but then told us “nevermind” because two people were already waiting for the table. RIDICULOUS. We never got a chance to TASTE the food simply due to the unprofessionalism of not having our seats ready as we reserved.

Overall the building is nice; however, please be advised that if you make a reservation you may not have your table or seats ready. And if the bar seats are first come first serve they should not have them as an option to choose from on Open Table.

Beautiful place, excellent food, and great customer service. I don't think I could afford to eat there a lot, but for a special occasion or just treating myself, it will definitely be the place I would go to. This particular visit was for my birthday.

The location was great! It was six of us and we all agreed that the drinks definitely could have been better. I’m not sure if they had multiple restroom locations but the women’s only had one stall which is unacceptable!

OVERCHARGING ALERT!
Will begin with the many pluses of this establishment! It’s cute, cool, modern & a good look for the city of Jackson. Street & lot parking is easy, along with valet available. Seated right away at opening time for brunch with no rsvp for a party of 4. Waiter was charming, helpful & attentive.
Ok, 1st Flag..As soon as we were seated, a staff member yelled through the restaurant that there was a max sit time of ONE hour. Weird & rude, but were told we would be free to move to the lounge area of the restaurant or the outdoor patio area (which looked nice but they were still setting up). Because we came to dine, drink and watch football, we decided right away we would go elsewhere after the meal.
Next Flag…We expected to try many dishes after having looked up the menu online, however there were only 4 options available (will attach photo). There were no vegetarian or vegan options, so 1 member of our party cancelled prior to arrival.
There was no mention of a specific brunch menu or limited options on the website.
After placing drink orders, waiter returned to inform us that we were unable to order from the house drink menu placed on the table & quickly removed that menu lol. We put in new orders, but later discover we were UPCHARGED to make mixed drinks. This is where it gets ridiculous: The total price for a (Teremana) margarita was $17; $12 for the liquor & $5 addl to make it a margarita. The total price for a Teremana Reposado Old Fashioned was $14, plus $5 to turn it into an Old Fashioned. Unlike the 1st round of waters, THESE DRINKS WERE SERVED TO US IN PLASTIC CUPS. (My marg tasted like a liquor-free very sweet lemonade—no salt no lime, my companions said their Old Fashioned’s were good but also no garnish). Because there was plenty of appropriate glassware hanging in sight above the bar, I requested ‘real’ glasses, but the waiter checked, then relayed that they could not accommodate this request. Needless to say, a customer should not have to ask for actual glassware with a $20 cocktail, & def shouldn’t be denied the request if asked. For me, that’s only for Happy Hour specials, not full priced cocktails. We literally had to look at the many available empty glasses sparkling above the bar the entire time we’re sipping from plastic cups (lol! Still tickled about that).
On to better news! Food came out quickly, was tasty, seasoned & plated well! Perfect amount, Flavor profiles good!
HOWEVER, same issue! Plastic fork & knife, The kind you’d get at a takeout joint with the mini salt, pepper packet & napkin folded inside. No linen napkins offered, (or even reg size paper napkins) no S & P shakers on table.
Bc we were being rushed out, we asked for the tab so we could move along. There were now several open tables & no need for a rush. Waiter then appears with an electronic card reader that does not show an itemized tab (We dine out often & this is always a FLAG!). The tab was paid without question, but we did request a printed itemized tab on the way out. Discovered we had been charged an extra $5 per cocktail to make the cocktails, extra dollar per mimosa flavor & the KICKER, we had been charged an 18% “DELIVERY FEE”, ON TOP OF THE 18% GRATUITY. You can see the double charge of $28.26 below. Discovered this AFTER having already tipped the waiter in cash, bc they got kinda sketchy about providing an itemized bill prior to payment.
We left perplexed wondering what exactly had been “delivered” & chuckled yet again about the new establishments cosplaying as high end, but don’t even want to wash glasses & silverware.

Sadly, unlikely to return after this experience. Despite the good food, treating customers like cattle to rush out while overcharging & using plasticware is unacceptable. We would have been repeat customers if not for this.
We paid roughly $100 over the subtotaled bill (inc the addl cash tip)

I decided to try this new restaurant because I’m a foodie and I was super excited that we had a new place! So I ordered a filet mignon with creole butter, loaded potatoes, asparagus, and several drinks. It took a while to get my food but the MAJOR problem that I had was with my steak, which I felt was a safe order! My steak had the worst char/burned taste I’ve ever experienced! I tried to cover it with the Cajun butter and A1 sauce but could not cover the burn taste! I had to return it and get a new one. (I really hate returning food) The Same exact thing happened again, still that horrible burn taste! The problem had to be with the grill because the steak wasn’t overcooked but still had that bitter burn taste. My drinks were all just OK. I tried three of them from the specialty menu, neither were to my liking so at this point I was Ready to leave. I don’t want to completely write them off bc the atmosphere is nice and my waiter and the manager were great, BUT I think I’d rather come when they’re not really busy so the time can be taken to make sure these orders come out the way they should especially when people are spending $100 per person to dine here.

The drinks in the cigar lounge were awesome even though we had to wait 45 minutes to even get a drink! We were told we would have a 30 minute wait for a table that turned into 2 HOURS! We never got to “Taste” the food because we never got to order any. Oh and after 9 you can only order of the bar menu even if you were there before 9.

My fiancé and I recently visited a new restaurant, motivated by the various reviews we had encountered. To form our own perspective, we opted to experience it firsthand. I recommend arriving when the doors open and securing a reservation, as we observed that many patrons with reservations were waiting outside.

Once we were seated, Tony, our server, provided attentive and honest service. However, we noticed significant delays in the kitchen, and the overall organization seemed lacking. Unfortunately, the quality of the oysters and the spinach dip did not meet our expectations, and the drinks were also subpar.

On a positive note, the atmosphere of the establishment was quite beautiful, and the service from our server was commendable. However, given the challenges we faced during our visit, we may reconsider returning in the future, as it impacted the quality of our date night.

Some friends and I went to Taste for brunch and we were very pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. Our server Keith was amazing. I ordered shrimp and grits. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was delightful. I also had two mocktail mojitos and they were delicious . I rate my experience a 10/10.

Ordered several items and drinks. The Cajun Chicken pasta was bland to the point I couldn't eat it. Waiter asked if I wanted it taken off of my tab and I said yes. He spoke with the manager and came back to the table informing me that it could not be removed. I didn't eat much from it and it didn't have much sausage and chicken in it, but it was $28.00. I wouldn't order this dish from this establishment, but everything else was okay and the drinks were pretty good.
