Had another great meal at La Mariposa! Food was great as always. Personal service by Mercedes Ricks, the owner & a great chef! Check it out ...Thursday is TacoNight. Sunday morning brunch is exceptional. Her desserts are scrumptious...especially her cheesecake & the best bread pudding ever. Visit & enjoy when in Magnolia area...or its definitely worth the drive.

This is our 2nd visit to Mariposa. And we carried our friends with us this time because the first visit was fabulous!!! The second visit was just as fabulous!!! You have to come eat some of this GOOD TASTING FOOD!!!! You just don’t know! You will be so glad you did!!!
La Mariposa, located in the town of Magnolia, offers a delightful dining experience with its terrific food and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features standout dishes like the hamburger steak with mushroom and crawfish topping, the shrimp and corn bisque, and also includes popular items such as gumbo, po boys, and fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes are golden fried and packed with excellent flavors, and the roast beef poboy is deliciously dressed. The staff is friendly and attentive, making guests feel welcome, even when they arrive just minutes before closing. Mercedes, the owner, adds excitement to the place with her warm personality. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and provides excellent service. The dining area is well lit with natural lighting and colorful butterfly decorations that enhance the cheerful atmosphere. La Mariposa is certainly worth the drive, even if it is a bit out of the way, especially for those seeking high-quality ingredients and special touches in their meals. Guests are encouraged to leave room for dessert, as the Pineapple Foster is amazing and a dream come true for gluten-free diners.
