Good experience
This is my second time here. Service is always fast and friendly. First time my order (combo #22) was flavorful, albeit a bit salty, but it was edible and I thought I'd give them another try because at least it was seasoned well. Today I try the exact same dish, and although the food looked and smelled great, may I offer just a *small* suggestion: please, please, please, PLEASE El Sombrero, stop making SALT the 1st ingredient in your dishes. Based on the reviews, El Sombrero McComb | Mexican offers a mixed experience that depends on who serves you and when you come. The restaurant is super clean, very nice, and looks like a dream with beautiful paintings, decor, and fun lights. The atmosphere and decor are beautiful, and the chips come out warm. The first time some customers came, the service was amazing with hot chips, warm queso, and delicious food that came out quick. The Barria tacos were just okay, and the enchiladas were absolutely horrible, tasting like they came from the frozen food section—dry with ground beef spread across the top and an awful tasting sauce. The rice and beans were cold. However, the combination fajita came out fast and hot with tender steak, and the margaritas were great. The food was excellent and a great value for fajitas. Some customers were charged full price instead of lunch price, and one was charged for two queso dips when only one was ordered. The restaurant is currently not serving alcohol but advertises that they do.
