Edit 2024: New owners, and still awesome. The hotel... not good at all. Going to give them one more try to see if they get it together, but the restaurant is still on point.2018 review - We didn't stay at the main house; instead, we just stopped in for brunch at the Castle Restaurant behind the house. I had my doubts all the way until I swung open the massive, wooden door, and was greeted by a wonderful Hostess, a grand fireplace right in the entrance, and the smell of bacon frying. For whatever reason, the hostess, servers, and other patrons were speaking in almost a whisper. I'm not certain if this is typical of this place or perhaps just a fluke that morning, but my entire table disregarded that "custom", and spoke in a respectfully audible tone. The place had an awesome feel about it (speaking of the upstairs); both unequivocally aged, and pleasantly sophisticated. The mimosas were outstanding, and the food was good. Really good!Having brunch here gave me that feeling that I used to get when I was a kid and would travel with my parents and stay in very old bed and breakfasts set in old houses and old schools, and always with large fireplaces as the centerpieces. We intend to revisit this restaurant again this year.

Wonderful food and experience. Seated promptly. Beautiful ambience with candlelight dinner. Food and service was great. Only downside was the tables were seated pretty close together so you could hear other couples chatting.

Visit the tavern, the manager is a treat to talk mixology with. The drinks were spot on - cosmo, aviation, martini and the old fashioned. The restaurant was very nice, great service and the food was very good. It all came together well and made our 40th wedding anniversary a special memory. We will definitely make plans to visit again in the near future

The food and service was very good! The only complaint I have is they still had the Valentines Day menu My husband and I had looked ahead and picked things that we were excited to try from the regular menu. So we were a little disappointed with that. But we still had a nice evening.

Our server, Leah, was incredible. Food was excellent, however the redfish was a bit smaller than anticipated. We were celebrating Valentines a little early and really appreciated a secluded table. After dinner we sat outside and finished our wine before going to the bar for after dinner drinks. Reece and Rick did a great job and offered good conversation. Overall we had a great experience

I had a wonderful dinner, was able to sit down at reservation time with no issues. My server sierra was great, very attentive and checked in me just enough. Food was exceptional and so was the drink and dessert.

Everything about our dining experience at The Castle was exceptional. Belinda, our waitress was so nice and helpful, the service she provided was outstanding. The food was delicious and served promptly, the whole atmosphere was just perfect. We would definitely visit again if in the area.

Castle always reminds me why I miss Natchez. The pork chop is truly devine.

The food, ambience and drinking were 5+ stars!! Our server was very good but a bit overwhelmed due to staff shortage and the kitchen was a lil slow however they comped us coffee and bread pudding to make everything all better❤️

Great place for a special occasion dinner! Great food, especially the truffle fries and beef carpaccio. The fireplace is a nice touch. Service was a little slow but the server was super nice and comped our desserts. We will definitely return.

This only applies to the brunch service. This was our first opportunity to visit the Dunlieth and again only applies to the brunch service on Sunday. The hospitality was very nice and the staff friendly. The dining area was neat, organized and a unique atmosphere. When we were seated and after getting our drink order the staff said the food was ready. It was served buffet style on very nice serving and warming trays. This was not expected as the breakfast is $50 a person not including drinks. This is the Dunlieth and I have to fix my own plate like at The Golden Corral. Even at Waffle House they bring you your food. Again this was our first visit and maybe I did not read the whole description about the brunch, we were just excited about going to the castle. Probably the biggest disappointment was the food. For $50 a plate the food needs to be better than the continental breakfast at a mid level hotel. I know this sounds harsh and again this is not a reflection of the rest of the Dunlieth or the restaurant during regular service. We knew going in the brunch was just an experience and over priced but the food is part of the experience and it was just horrible except for the fried chicken. I'm not trying to discourage anyone I am just giving an honest opinion of what you get for $50 a plate. The brunch service should be completely revamped or cancelled completely. We were not the only ones, we could hear other tables commenting on the food quality.

Went for 5th Anniversary dinner. We I referred shrimp and grits, cacio e pepe with duck, crab cakes appetizer and salad. We did 2 cocktails, the sazerac and basil lemonade. In summary, the food was okay. There's nothing to rave over. Complaints being the shrimp were wildly overcooked IQF product from Walmart. A real shame since fresh gulf shrimp are available locally. The cacio e pipe was completely wron6and was loaded with either garlic or truffle oil, and it used Parmesan cheese that was mealy instead of the Pecorino Romano original to the dish. It tasted like a Pastaroni box mix.The duck was done well. The grits had a funny cheesy taste. I felt like I could taste some smoked gouda and something else, familiar. Likely, the dish was prepared with Velveeta and bacon.I won't say it was terrible. It was not. But, the quality of the ingredients, or lack of, shined through. This is good for older people wanting a nice place to go for a birthday, etc. This is not a dining destination for serious foodies. The interior is decorated very Horse and Hound and had a definite 1990s feel. White cloth table cloths (polyester not linen) which were dried too hot and wrinkles set in.For an anniversary dinner, which was incorporated into the reservation, we sat in a nearly empty restaurant 2 feet from the kitchen door that constantly opened and shut as food and personnel used it.Parking: Parking is tight.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible.
