The buffet had a nice selection, however the food was barely warm. The stuffing, potatoes, macaroni and cheese were not hot at all. There was no butter or salt and pepper on the tables, and each had to be requested from the servers.
The food was excellent, and the plantation and grounds are lovely. Big HOWEVER, I made a reservation for the main floor of the Castle (an outbuilding), but we ended up in its rathskeller because the reservation system does not correctly identify days when the Castle upstairs is open. It was late and we were tourists and did not want to find another place, so we ended up staying, but this was not the magical evening we anticipated. Do not trust the reservation system.
The dining room was very nice with great service. The food was very good. The Godchaux Salad was exceptional. The Prime Rib was very good along with the Shrimp & Grits. Everyone was wonderful. When we go backto Natchez we will definitely eat here again.
