Ordered the ribeye steak recommended by waiter! The ribeye arrived cold the potatoes and asparagus was warm but the steak was cold! I order medium rare but the outside of the steak was cold! The waiter took the steak and put in microwave to reheat! Very disappointed with the way meal was handled!!

The Restaurant 1818 is a wonderful choice for anyone in Natchez and is especially convenient for guests at Monmouth Home. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated with period furnishings. The atmosphere is great and the food is top notch. The service staff are all first class, very friendly and helpful. The cocktails are excellent and the small lounge to the rear of the restaurant is really nice.Vegetarian options: Some non-meat and seafood dishesDietary restrictions: Staff will try to assist with restrictions you make them aware ofParking: Free lot in frontKid-friendliness: More an adult environmentWheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible

My wife and I love coming to Restaurant 1818. Each time we visit Natchez, we dine there at least once. The food and service are always exceptional. George was our waiter, and he did a great job!

We ate here 9 years ago for our first anniversary, so we returned to celebrate our 10th last night. We were seated immediately and George took wonderful care of us all night long. I has the lamb lollipops as an appetizer and the pork chop dinner. Both were cooked perfectly and were delicious. My wife had the gumbo and the filet. The gumbo was a tad bland (although we are from New Orleans so are used to spice and bold flavor in our gumbo), but a little hot sauce and pepper helped quite a bit. The steak was a perfect medium rare. Her favorite part of the meal, though, was the garlic mashed potatoes. We were seated near another couple from New Orleans (celebrating 47 years together) and a couple from the UK (celebrating 30 years) who were leaving for New Orleans the next day. We had a great time chatting with our fellow guests and, in fact, moved to the table with the couple from the UK for after dinner drinks. About halfway through the meal, the mayor of Natchez arrived and made his rounds greeting everyone. He then took a seat at the piano in the foyer and played and sang for the rest of the night. The owner poured champagne for everyone and we all hung around for probably an extra hour after dinner. In short, the food was great and the experience was even better! We will be back!

What a beautiful place to have a nice dinner. Dai was our server and we've had him before. Very helpful, friendly, and attentive. I had the redfish special, wife had pork chops. Both cooked perfectly and tasted great. My starter shrimp cocktail was wonderful. 5 big ones in a spicy sauce. Next time, we'll save room for dessert.. Thank you for a wonderful evening of dining.

I can't say enough good things about our Christmas Eve Dinner at Restaurant 1818. We were met at the door by a very gracious host. We chose our table and enjoyed our beautiful surroundings. Our waitress was the absolute BEST!!! She took excellent care of us. The food was delicious!!!! We will definitely make the hour long drive again!!!!

All our food was served lukewarm and was bland. My fish was dry and appetizer of green tomatoes was suppose to have lump crabmeat and did not. The caramel sauce on the bread pudding was very grainy sugar, not even prepared properly. Sorry, but not a place I would eat again. Way way overpriced!

Way over priced and not very good food. Fried Geeen tomatoes with crab meat was really bad. Extremely small portion; no flavor and hardly any “shredded “ crabmeat. Definitely not lump crabmeat. Steak was decent but certainly not Prime even though you paid for Prime. Bread pudding was horrible, mostly burnt sugar. Redfish was dry and all the food was luke warm at best. Server was polite, but not knowledgeable about anything. The nose ring should have been a tip off. I can not believe the good ratings some people have left. Must be from friends and family.

As we arrived the house is excellent and the room was nice. That's where the experience went down. The waitress was not a fine dine waitress. The food was average for the cost. One starter, two main and one desert $140. For that cost I was expecting a lot better overall. Will not be back

WE HAD THANKSGIVING DINNER AT MONMOUTH. THE FOOD WAS (FROM SOUP AND SALAD TO MAIN COURSE AND DESSERT) OUTSTANDING. IT WAS VISUALLY BEAUTIFUL AND FULFILLED ITS PROMISE. THE WAITER COULD HAVE BEEN FROM THE BEST OF NEW ORLEANS HIGH-END RESTAURANTS. THE DINING ROOMS WERE ELEGANT. THANK YOU, MONMOUTH, FOR A MEMORABLE HOLIDAY DINNER.

We have dined here twice. Both times we were in town for Angels on the Bluff. Dao was a fantastic waiter and the food was excellent both times. We had a group of ten and were seated in a private room and we had a great time with our party.

We were really looking forward to our meal at Monmouth but what a disappointment. We arrived and had to hunt around for someone to seat us before we located the only waiter chatting away with his mates in the kitchen. When he finally came out, his attitude was very casual and not in keeping with a fine dining restaurant. The tablecloth was wrinkled and worn. We ordered an appetiser (lamb lollipops) and main (duck) to share. Our waiter slopped water all over the place when he poured. The lamb was tasty but our plates were not cleared before the main arrived. The waiter explained “he forgot” to clear our places. There were only 2 other occupied tables. The duck appeared well cooked but not hot so we sent it back. It returned having been heated up and our waiter said that happened a lot with the duck! Although the duck was tasty, the sauce it was covered in was sickly sweet. For dessert, we ordered a slice of pecan pie which had a soggy crust and was simply not very good. We have been travelling for the last two weeks and this was the most expensive yet worst dining experience we have had.
