“Arrived at 12, at 12:15 they took our order for two lunch specials. 12:45 we asked how much longer it would be. After checking, "Unfortunately, I don't know what happened to your ticket & she's cleared away everything for the lunch special." We reordered & at 1:15 we had lunch. I ordered the patty melt & asked if it had sautéed onions..."yes." The onions were chopped (see photo,) barely cooked & crunchy. This was my second time to visit Sam's. I'm hoping this is not the norm!”

“We stopped for lunch on our road trip. We Googled places near Laurel and Hog Heaven had the best reviews from hundreds of people. It's a little further off the hwy but absolutely worth it.
The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. The service was so friendly and efficient, and the food was awesome. Our party tried the brisket, pulled pork, chicken tenders and cheeseburger as well as a variety of different sides. Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Once hearing that it was a friend's birthday, our server quickly offered a free choice of dessert, but we were all too full from our great meal to accept.
Great place and great value.

“We hung out there last night.. Some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. No b.s….. truly a beautiful space and cool vibe…. The bartenders were cool and welcoming the music was AMAZING and the people were all kind interesting and authentic. I met people who displayed class, kindness, inclusion and generosity. “We just stayed one night at Jenny's, but a perfect one night it was. The home is so beautiful - cozy and decorated perfectly. Our room (the LaPan Suite) was lovely and so comfortable. It happened that we got a good Mississippi rain the night and morning we were there and sitting on the screened porch, enjoying the rain, was dreamy. The rain broke long enough for us to walk into town for dinner, which was so nice. Then breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious. Jenny and her husband are wonderful hosts. Highly recommend a stay there if you are visiting Laurel.”

“I ordered menudo to go. Flavor was good however serving was full of hoof bones and only 6 pieces of tripe. I would recommend adding yellow hominy to the pot and send a couple warm corn tortillas along.”

“I don't want to not recommend this place but today was just awful. There were two tables of people there today including us so no crowd at all. We ordered 2 grilled cheese sandwiches one wrap and 3 waters. I don't know what the deal was but it took 45 minutes to receive our order. I finally walked up to check and they were just getting around to it. my son said the kid at the counter had no business dealing with customers. It was unacceptable we should have left but we had already paid and the kids were hungry. We wanted coffee but figured it was a lost cause. Thought you should know”

“Popcorn shrimp are always over cooked and are like eating little rocks. Steamed shrimp are very difficult to peel to the point I won't even order them anymore. So unless I want chicken strips or fish slivers and cold Fry's and hard hush puppies I won't stop on the few times it is open. Now with that said the girls working the counter are super nice and friendly but the food needs a little help.”
