Red Pier Seafood Southaven Review – March 8, 2025 My visit to Red Pier Seafood in Southaven at 5 PM was a disappointing experience marred by poor service, long waits, and mismanagement. Our group originally had 10 people, and before being seated, we were required to sign an agreement stating we would have one bill, provide a copy of a driver’s license, and accept an automatic 18% gratuity. After signing, we were informed of a 45-minute wait, which was expected. However, half of our group left, leaving just five of us. Once seated, our waitress, Shakia, immediately warned us that the kitchen was backed up and food would take about an hour. That was understandable, so we ordered drinks and appetizers to keep the conversation going. We specifically requested water without lemon, as lemons are often unwashed before being cut. Despite this, every water arrived with lemon floating in it, and the waitress seemed confused when we asked for them to be replaced. The service continued to decline from there. After a 45-minute wait, only one appetizer and some fried meal orders arrived—brought by another server while our waitress was missing. The second appetizer never arrived. The seafood boils followed another 45 minutes to an hour later, meaning our table ate in shifts rather than together. Worse, we weren’t given buckets, gloves, or utensils for the boils until we flagged down another server, who then informed our own waitress. It took her an additional five minutes to bring them. Meanwhile, our alcoholic drinks were nowhere to be found. When we asked about them, we were told the bar was backed up. They eventually arrived a full 30 minutes after our food—only after we had requested a refund for them and the missing appetizer. Overall, the experience was frustrating. While we expected some wait times due to a busy evening, the service was unorganized, inattentive, and slow. Orders were incorrect or forgotten, and basic requests (like no lemon in water) were mishandled. The required agreement for large parties felt excessive given the service quality. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return based on this visit.

Took hours to get our drinks parking lot is not big enough so it leaves other customers to park elsewhere and get car towed when security is saying it's okay to park there. DJ calling out certain cars but others should've been aware not to park in certain areas where there weren't signs. Then on top of that they print out one ticket so my one drink which was $12 was added to the tables check which was $300 with a high gratuity. My first and last time there place costed me $500 and hadn't been there an hr.

I ordered the jambalaya and it was so delicious! It comes with chicken, shrimp, and sausage with onion bell pepper, and okra. Very well seasoned. The atmosphere was very chill and calming. Great customer service.

Today is our 38th marriage anniversary and thanks to your complete team it was a grandiose dining experience, starting with our server lyssa, she was a delightful, energetic and willing to go the extra mile!!! Lyssa gave us, her customers great customer service from the introduction through the order to the take with bags!!! Excellent customer service!!!
To the bartender superb Ms Lia, you got it absolutely correct, a real Long Island Ice Tea with no ice. You don’t know how many time I’ve asked for no or light lice and received a glass full of ice and whatever makes a Long Island ice tea taste sweet, with no kick from the good good stuff!!! Thank you, Top Shelf Bartender !!!

Don’t waste your time. Spoke to server once, was there for almost an hour. Got our appetizers, place our order, but never saw our waiter again. Five different tables that were seated after us were served and eating. We just sat there. When we went to leave we got a “hope you give us another try.” Nope, won’t be back.

On yesterday, I dined with my family for a bday celebration. When we arrived the receptionist, took like 10 minutes to locate the paperwork since the gathering was pre scheduled way before yesterday. One of them had an attitude about retrieving the paperwork. I waited over 40 minutes or more for my Cajun pasta. Once I received my food, everyone at the table had completely finished their dishes. The server did an excellent job waiting our table despite the inconvenience. I kindly requested a discount because the time waited was simply unacceptable. I was given a $5 off discount. When you closely examine my receipt, the money was made right back in gratuity. I have no problems with gratuity at restaurants. However, it was only 7 adults and two kids. In my situation, my meal shouldn’t have still rounded out to $30 some dollars after waiting over 40 minutes. I have no problem paying for my meal but in this case it could have been at least $25 or a little less. The manager said that was the most she could take off my meal which honestly more could’ve been done in this situation. The food was good and the particular server we had was very nice. But the unwillingness to be fair was not professional to me. Unfortunately, this particular seafood place lost a future returning customer. It’s plenty of other seafood places.
