I hosted my 60th birthday party at Southern Elegance 12/20. My experience with this establishment was great!!! The owners were provided me with amazing service however, my designated point of contact, Treneka was exceptional!!! The decor as well as the food was wonderful. My guests were in awe of how everything looked and tasted. I definitely would recommend them to friends and family!!

Southern Elegance Events appears to be a suitable venue for events. However, my experience with them was disappointing. I had initially expressed interest in hosting an event at their facility on February 22, 2025, and received numerous calls and texts indicating their enthusiasm. We scheduled an in-person tour for Saturday, November 23rd, which I confirmed via email. Upon arriving 10 minutes early, I noticed the venue was empty. I emailed Mrs. Sonya Newsom, my designated tour guide, to inform her of my arrival, but received no response despite sending three emails and making six phone calls. I waited in the parking lot for 97 minutes without any acknowledgment. The following day, I received a message stating that a scheduling conflict had arisen, but I had not been notified. Based on this experience, I would not recommend hosting events at this venue due to their unprofessionalism.

Was the bride here on Oct 19th and I gotta say, it was a lovely venue with lovely staff. The venue was immaculately clean, the food was food, and Trinique & Co. went above and beyond for us.

Like, our whole wedding plans were pretty much last minute and they got it into shape for us.

Also, my big back ass was having trouble fitting into my dress and I was freaking the hell out, and the staff came up there and helped LOL. Don't eat fried food the night and morning before your wedding.

Southern Elegance Event center is a nice facility. I gave only 1 star because the facility was nice and clean. Unfortunately, the staff (DR. MICHELLE) was so unprofessional.During our event this past Saturday 7/21/23 DR MICHELLE walked around as if she was a guard dog. She made unwelcoming comments to our guest like "there's not enough food, "if we give you 1 extra chair there's going to be a cost.” "you can't cut the cake in the kitchen" and y'all are not going to get out of here on time."Southern Elegance is money hungry and unprofessional. Initially, when my family discovered that place I said then that they would nickel and dime us to death. We rented for a family reunion not a wedding. We wanted to bring in our own DJ, food, decorations. We were immediately told that if we didn’t utilize their services we would have to pay additional fees to use any thing other than the ballroom. The fees were pricey. For example, to bring in our food we could not use their equipment, especially the knives. The kitchen usage would have been an additional $500. To bring in our own DJ and the DJ brought in his equipment we had to pay $250 and the DJ had to present his insurance. I could go on and on. Oh, I almost failed to mention that when our attendee count increased from 70 to 90 people we were forced to move to the “grand” ballroom (there were no other events going on in the facility that weekend). We were initially told that the Jr, ballroom held up to 120 people. Yes, you guessed it, there was an additional $1,800,00 fee because we were lied to.I was a part of our decorating team and we were told that the plates would be white. Instead they were clear. It did effect our decorations, but we improvised and made it absolutely beautiful anyway. So much deception. The food was not the best. During the initial discussion it was presented that there would be a food tasting. That never happened especially after the non-refundable deposit was made Had we tasted the food prior to the event, we would have chosen the Holiday Inn instead. Again, DR MICHELLE had the audacity to say there “might not be enough food.”With all of that said, my family or friends will NEVER EVER rent from Southern Elegance’s Event Center or refer anyone to that company.

If you have an upcoming event here run! The staff and owner are very unprofessional. If you’re not using their in house services everything is an issue. There’s no rules for vendors, they are literally made up day by day. Mrs. Martha made a direct quote to me about someone that was hired to decorate; little did she known it was my sorority sister and that negative comment will cost her business in the future. My vendors arrived and seen an open space and drove to be closer to the door( unaware that they were in a prohibited area because again; there’s no rules for vendors provided to the vendors). When she was informed that the area was prohibited; she apologized and moved. The first event that was held at her establishment by our family was perfect( she literally decorated, cooked, etc). The second event we decided not to use her services, paid for outside catering ( the $500 fee)and decorations. Michelle asked me what time does this event end it was 2:19 PM; it literally hadn’t started yet( the event began at 2:30). They did help assist with certain things; we needed a cake cutter they allowed us to use one of there’s( thank you).Once all the food was done and individuals were given second; someone asked for plastic wrap; an employee stated that this has to go to the kitchen; I don’t want to get fired. We immediately told our guest not to request plastic wrap. After the event the vendors were loading from the front(it was pouring down raining). The owner cursed at her assistant ( Michell) and in terms (Michell began to take her frustration out on our vendors)stated that our vendors were not allowed to do events there anymore. Here’s the problem; from the beginning you wanted my vendors to add your establishment on their insurance for liability purposes… hmmm, that’s why you pay insurance to cover accidents. Then you wanted the cater to add you to his insurance in the event someone gets sick off the food? After he decline to add you we had to get the food a different route.Today, an HR director that attended our event called to book for their upcoming Christmas party and Shelia stated that they were no longer allowing outside catering due to our event. If there was an issue outside of what was already stated above ( the driving on prohibit area) it should have been addressed in a better manner. There were several vendors there that stated they turn down jobs because of this establishment. I was ecstatic to be a repeat client; however; I will not attend or recommend another event at this establishment.

I was looking for a classy venue to host my 50th birthday party and Southern Elegance did not disappoint. Mrs. Martha Warren and her staff did an exceptional job and went above and beyond to make my day special. From decorating the venue to catering to dinner, everything was absolutely wonderful. I performed a live tribute to Michael, Jackson along with my wife and son , and Mrs. Warren and her staff even went out of their way to help me set up and have the performance look like a genuine concert !! Weeks later and I am still receiving rave reviews of how upscale, and elegant the party and venue turned out from family, friends , and colleagues . If you’re looking for a place to host your wedding, baby shower, party, or corporate event , you cannot go wrong with Southern Elegance, hands down the best around !!
