“No one knows about this place - every time we visit, there’s usually no one there, but the food is really good. It’s inside the Inn at Ole Miss, so I guess it’s sort of understandable that knows it’s a great place to have lunch or dinner. Try the redfish and you’ll see what I mean.“

“The last time my wife and I visited the University of Mississippi campus in Oxford, Mississippi, there wasn't a Steak 'n Shake restaurant at 762 All-American Drive, in the shadow of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. As we planned our trip to Oxford this year, I couldn't wait to have lunch at what I imagined was a thriving business on campus, especially on game day when thousands of Ole Miss students and alumni and fans partied at the nearby Grove and attended the Saturday afternoon football game. Alas, much to our disappointment, the Steak 'n Shake is temporarily closed. Because of COVID, I assume. I can only imagine how much revenue the restaurant is losing, especially when Ole Miss is in session and the Rebels are hosting Alabama or Mississippi State or Georgia. It's like closing an Irish pub on St. Patrick's Day in Chicago. I still recall how popular a Steak 'n Shake was when I attended the University of Illinois from 1958 to 1962, a go-to destination after class, on weekends and during final exam week. “Excellent experience at Grit. Phenomenal food, service, and atmosphere. I got the Huevos Rancheros, a grit cake topped with brisket, eggs, avocado, and spicy black beans, and it was awesome. I also got their Bloody Mary, which was very good. Highly recommend.“

“Historic spot in Oxford, known for the burger it’s a really good burger get the Philly steak it’s my favorite, I had patty melt today which was a little greasy but still very tasty the hand cut fries are really the star of the show and the staff here is friendly and they get food out very quick!!“

“We live near this restaurant and we love their steaks. Ribeye is my favorite steak. This restaurant opened under new owners and the new owners have put their heart & soul into this Steak House. The whole place has been remodeled. They have added a screened porch for special events. You can find a parking space if you come early. “I have eaten at Southern Coop for years. Saturday night, after the biggest football game of the season, a friend and I were so hungry that I introduced her to Southern Coop. This was my first time at the new location. All I can say is it’s awesome from the front door to leaving. The girls at the register are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The management/owners are visible and attentive, making sure the place runs smoothly. Go see them!“

“This is the very first time I ever eat here. I have been Ubering around Oxford. For about four months now I haven’t stopped and ate anywhere because I’ve been working, but I stopped today. The food was absolutely awesome. The atmosphere was even better than that. The lady that owns the place was a very, very nice person. I called her over and we talked for a minute Just like I was a customer that come in every day beautiful place. Be sure to come here when you come to Oxford.“

“Perfect spot with an amazing atmosphere for adults to celebrate special occasions. Dates, anniversaries, families visiting college students, etc. looking for an upscaled dining experience. Amazing food by an amazing, award winning chef and staff, all of which have gigantic hearts, and they pour ever my ounce into what they do. You won’t find better food or service within a reasonable drive. It’s the ideal spot to go if you want to hire a baby sitter and enjoy a special night out with your spouse and or loved ones. That being said, it’s unfortunate that we live in a world full of selfish, entitled, inconsiderate pricks who don’t care about anyone else but themselves. It’s a small dining room with tight table spacing. It only takes one feral, screaming toddler throwing food everywhere while their inconsiderate, selfish, entitled prick for a parent completely ignoring their behavior to ruin that for the 50 some odd other people who have looked forward to a special night out. I’ll die on this hill. Sola just said what everyone else was thinking. Leave your screaming, food throwing toddlers with a sitter, or go to chilis.“
