From the second you walk up the steps, you know it's going to be good. It's in an old manor house. Xavier was our waiter and he was phenomenal!!! My husband got sweet tea and said it would have made my Georgia dad proud. The chicken fried steak was sublime. The biscuits and cornbread were touched by angels. I don't know how they made their mashed potatoes so creamy but give me all of them. The macaroni and cheese was clearly scratch made. I had one of the specials...
“Voted #1” or “Best in 3 States” type advertising gets me every time despite almost always being poppycock (except for poppycock caramel corn that really is among the best, way better than Cracker Jack). I am a sucker for “Best of” advertising and my eye always stops when I find a review that makes claims too.\n\nMy turn now. I’m writing to tell you that I might’ve just had the best fried chicken in North America and it’s in Vicksburg Mississippi at Walnut Hills....
We were visiting Vicksburg and our research pointed us to Walnut Hills for dinner and we were so glad 😁. What a treasure. The ambience was charming, service was great and the fried chicken dinner was absolutely perfect. If you're in the area and trying to find a good spot for a wonderful southern dinner experience, don't hesitate - just go. Also the desserts are delicious!
