The food was amazing! The service received from our waiter, not so much. Went as part of a bachelorette party and barely spoke to the bride. Struggled to order a second drink, offered no refills. But another server or busser did finally refill the water. Was excited to go, won’t go back.

THE GREATEST SUSHI I’VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!! I lived in California for 10 years and went to many Sushi restaurants and honestly none of them come close to how delicious Blue Buddha’s food is. Also the customer service is excellent! My favorite restaurant in all of Big Sky!!! Without a doubt!!!

Stopped in for dinner while visiting and everything was fantastic! I ordered a huckleberry mule and a strawberry basil sake gimlet (highly recommend). We ordered jalepeno poppers, edamame, and shishito peppers to split between three people. The jalepeno poppers and the sushi rolls were huge!! Our food and drinks came out promptly. We thankfully got seated without reservations but it was busy so I’d make reservations if we go again just in case.

Another beautiful sushi location in Montana. Our 3 speciality rolls had outstanding flavours. Great combination! Service by Katie was wonderful. My cocktails were excellent 👌A little higher priced (overall Big Sky seems to be) so we did not try the sashimi. Funky atmosphere, great 80s music which we loved. Well done team 👏

Unfortunately we had an absolutely awful experience here. We had a reservation for 6 people. We showed up 10 minutes before our reservation time and we subsequently waited almost an hour to be seated. We were seated at a high top table with two strangers who were halfway through their meal sitting next to us. When our waiter came by to introduce himself, we were told we needed to order everything we wanted right then and there because the kitchen was closing, and they had already stopped serving several things on the menu. We were not able to order drinks or desert. We were subsequently asked to pay and get out after being seated for about 40 minutes. Once the hostess noticed her mistake, she should have told us we wouldn't have been able to be seated, given us a gift card & a reservation for the following night for wasting our time and hoped we would come back. Instead during the entire wait we were told it would just be a couple minutes.
TL;DR
We had a reservation, waited 45 minutes past the reservation time before being seated, were told the kitchen was closing, were rushed into finishing dinner in 40 minutes.

Me and my girl ate here a couple of days ago and I see a charge on my card of 84.18, when the full order was 71.36, I only left a couple of dollars because we didn’t had that much money and the service was ok, not great, but ok and I wrote the tip amount and the total being 75 and I’m guessing the server put the total to be 84.18 when I wrote and signed a different total, since when do servers or managers put any amount of tips at the end of the order ??? If I sign a certain amount then you put that amount. I don’t need those 10$ back but I’ll definitely never come to blue Buddha again

Allegedly, reservations are required. It is not posted, listed, or mentioned anywhere. Our party was turned away due to not having a reservation. We later called and the hostess stated they had reservations available, yet they could not offer us one. This restaurant does not appear to be interested in serving tourists. There are plenty of much more welcoming restaurants in the area.

Sushi was good but not great. Menu could use more variety for non sushi dishes. Put unagi on Rainbow roll and it was terribly fishy. Normally like unagi but this was terrible. Never had unagi on Rainbow roll before and I have been to at least 29 sushi places. Some rolls were pretty good but 2 were quite lousy. Overall 3/5 for sushi.

I LOVE this place. Favorite sushi in Montana would be too easy a bar for Blue Buddha. It's my favorite sushi restaurant anywhere. Thanks, Blue Buddha, you rule. (And Corrine - hope I spelled that right - has been my favorite bartender in the world for several years.)

It would be in the best interest of a business to be open during the busy season and have better hours to be open.... Why not be open for lunch and dinner? We often would visit but are not willing to wait until 5p for sushi. Why not 3p or 4p?
Server was great. He was very timely and communicative. It was busy and he crushed it!
