If you want an authentic feel to go with your coffee then this is an excellent place. Heavy front door leads to a true general mercantile store turned modern. No WiFi laptops at the counter make it a perfect place to bring a book. I didn’t get to sit in the cubby seating in the back but they looked awesome.
Take the time to have one of their fab drinks and a couple of cookies, before or after you look through the shop. So much fun stuff!!
We scouted the merch, noshed and then when rested and refreshed (iced Royal Chai and Huckleberry Italian Soda + cookies to share) we shopped for real ;)

I visited 'The Merc' in Helena and my first impression was that it was a cool little hipster coffee shop. It seemed very rustic and had a vibe that sort of reminded me of Butterfly Herbs in Missoula. I ordered a vanilla latte and it was very good and I thought the guy at the front counter was friendly and had excellent customer service skills.
