I habe been super excited to try this steak house only to be disappointed.

Went to wife's company Christmas party and the prime rib was so over loaded with smoke flavor and unable to eat and chicken was super dry.

Super disappointed wouldn't recommend prime rib or chicken unless you want a smoke flavor stuck in your mouth for hours ...
Staff was super great just not the food..

Atmosphere is great, staff is very nice. Some food was delicious, and some we weren't a fan of how it was cooked, but all in all nice and expensive 🫰🏼

Food was just ok. Been here a few times over the past few years and it has always been excellent - Sadly, that was not the case this time.

Really enjoyed our anniversary dinner here. We’ve been here before but this time the food exceeded my expectations. We ordered crab cakes (lacked moisture and didn’t seem fresh- not the fault of the restaurant) for the starter and Yukon gold mash (over whipped) for dinner and they were mediocre but everything else was AMAZING. We had the filet, beef ribeye (mouth watering), mac n cheese, asparagus and the flourless chocolate soufflé. And we each had a glass of wine and both were high quality and delicious. Highly recommend all of the above! And our server was very friendly and didn’t over do the check ins, brought our order out with perfect timing and was really kind. Overall amazing experience!

Nice atmosphere and good service. The food is good but overpriced. Twice baked potato, shareable(?), was literally half a baked potato and cost $12 and was not even hot. Not worth the $200 we spent.

We went to Mercantile Steak to celebrate an anniversary, and it was fantastic. We were treated with a card on our table, congratulating us on our anniversary, signed by the staff of the restaurant.

Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and made great recommendations.

The food, as always, was top drawer.

The experience was a perfect start to our anniversary get away.

Thanks mercantile!

What a gem! We had no expectations as the exterior is unassuming. We did have reservations, but we noticed that this time of year we could likely come without them or get seated at the bar if needed. My husband started with the Angel’s Envy flight, and I the tequila drink on the menu- which I reordered! We had the marrow bone starter which was absolutely delectable and added the bourbon luge when finished (though luged it into a glass vs into the mouth like a shot). The beet salad was delicious, and the added, cold caramelized onions were a nice surprise. My husband is VERY particular with steak, and he said the beef ribeye was the best steak- over Chicago! The mac n cheese was perfect. I had the seafood special with peas, guanciale and scallops, and the scallops were excellently prepared and like butter. After all of these wins, we had to order dessert! The chai creme brûlée was insane, and the after dinner drink Clarified Spiced Pomegranate Milk Punch was marvelous and unexpected. Mel, our server, was funny, very knowledgeable, spot on with recommendations, attentive, and an absolute pleasure. This may very well be our new favorite place!

This was the best experience in every way. It was Halloween night, and all of the wait staff were in awesome costumes that made us smile. The service was warm and excellent. The atmosphere was a great mix of comfy Montana but also fine dining. We felt comfortable in our jeans but also would have felt comfortable coming in dressed to the nines. The lighting was perfect. The music was great but not so loud we couldn't have a conversation. And the food!!!! My husband is a meat-and-potatoes guy, and he said this was the best steak he had ever had. I got the burger and fries, which made me sigh with happiness at every bite. And we ordered the mac-n-cheese, which was a great guilty pleasure with dripping cheese. The menu was priced in a way that fit our modest budget on the gift card but also offered more expensive options if someone wanted to really splurge. Definitely telling all of our friends about this delightful experience.

We were celebrating our anniversary last night and a trip to Kalispell from out of town for medical treatments, so we spent the night and decided to celebrate with Mercantile for the first time. I had the filet and beet salad, which were both wonderful! The steak was cooked perfectly and the salad was amazing! My husband had the seafood special which was a seafood pasta and side salad. They were both very good! We'd definitely recommend the Mercantile!
