Fantastic food, the meat empanadas have great flavor and everything is so filling! The staff and owners are kind, courteous, and offer a pleasant atmosphere. The new chorizo empanada is great anytime of day and the white sauce goes great with the sweet potato fries!

Wow just wow! Best food in missoula. Their restaurant was super clean and the customers service was absolutely amazing. They brought our food to us within minutes of ordering and noticed we forgot to grab knives and got them for us without us even asking. The chicken empanada is sooo delicious. 5 star everything! Ive never written a review but this really deserves it.

I have a love-hate relationship with Empanadas. When they're bad they're really, really bad: lumps of undercooked dough with tiny balls of something in the middle. Or, worse they're lumps of overcooked and dried out dough you can barely swallow. Either way they give empanadas a bad name. However, when they're good empanadas can be marvelous....and Solange (an Argentina transplant to Missoula) at The Empanada Joint has created amazing empanadas. Her empanadas have everything you want. The dough is just the right thickness to provide a great handhold yet thin enough to cook to a flaky perfection and golden hue. Her empanadas are filled to bursting with meats and sauces that were piping hot with great spice and creative combinations of meats and vegetables that made it hard to choose (because it would be piggish to have them all?) I recommend the chorizo and the corn...What Solange had done is make something perfect...and then open a shop and serve just that. The perfect empanada. Lucky you if you happen to live in Missoula!

Awesome Empanadas! Fast friendly service. Had the grass fed beef and Chorizo empanadas with sweet potato fries.

Had a great experience with friendly, relaxed staff. Gave great recommendations and the Empanada's themselves were extremely well seasoned and delicious. Will revisit another time to see how their frozen takeout Empanada's hold up.

Love it. Had a Spinach empanada and a corn one with the Chimichurri (green) sauce and their spicy red. All very good. Served warm and not too hot so I could chomp down right away. Finished with a blueberry empanada for dessert and, of course, a bottle of Mexican Coke. (Drug of choice) Spacious for about 3 dozen people on the inside and a couple of outside tables. Friendly service. Will be back.

This place is wonderful - the owners are so friendly and accommodating. Two empanadas might not feel like enough food, but if you eat a little slow you will get full! Beet and goat cheese is my personal favorite. Don't skip out on the yummy dessert options!

Love the empanadas here. Need 2 to make a meal, which gives you a reason to try more than one. I got the chicken (from a recommendation from the woman behind the counter) and a pork sausage empanada -- both were full of flavor and spicier than I expected. Pastry crust was perfectly done -- I'm more familiar with the Chilean version, but these were at least as good!

Very friendly atmosphere. The empanadas were excellent - tasty and surprisingly good mixes. Definitely a place for a good and filling lunch.

I was suspicious. What the hell is an empanada? Boy am I glad I went to find out. This place is so good I was stunned. I love empanadas! Who knew? Not me.Hit them early at lunchtime. You can usually catch a couple breakfast empanadas to go with the lunch selections.Edit: and as an update to this review, I've been to BA Argentina! I had more empanadas! The Empanada Joint wins, these are legit. Not "as good as" the real deal. They are the real deal. Ps. More chimi pls.
