The lodge is ideal for a historic feel, the convenience of being in the park, and the services and amenities. The lodge looks like a nice place to stay, but it's also a place worth stopping. There is a large camp store and plenty of parking, and it gives guests full access to the lakeshore. The stones that make up the lakebed of Lake McDonald look like jewels, with a vivid array of colors. The lodge is also the ideal place to turn around and go back along the Going-to-the-Sun Road if coming from St. Mary.
The cabin is simply furnished and tiny, with a small bed and a disgusting carpet. The shower curtain has mold stains. However, the location is great, with Lake McDonald just a few steps away. The food in the restaurant is very good, although not all drinks may be in stock due to the impending end of the season.
