The huckleberry ice cream was so delicious. Staff was friendly and kind. It was a great cold treat after a day in Yellowstone NP. Would be back to have the huckleberry ice cream!

They have such good ice cream and the make it homemade right there. It’s usually a popular place to get ice cream. I think it’s the best place to get ice cream in West Yellowstone.

tl;dr unlike most other establishments in West Yellowstone, this scoop shop skips the kitsch and lets its product do the talking The City Creamery is a mini-chain delivering artisanal, small-batch ice cream to Montana and Arizona. In West Yellowstone, the old-fashioned sign and firetruck-red paint job pop against the drab, facaded shops that flank the tiny shack. The DIY menu is colorfully markered onto an unassuming dry-eraser board, beside the LED-lit display counter. Metal patio furniture is arranged underneath the slanted awning on the side of the shop. Pop music and the alluring aroma of fresh waffle cones pour out the garage door-style ordering window. I admittedly wasn't expecting much from West Yellowstone (particularly outside of peak season), but I arrived in town with a massive craving for ice cream. While wandering along Canyon Street, the City Creamery's massive crowd immediately caught my attention. The scoopsters were simultaneously friendly, patient, and efficient, so the line moved along at a humming pace. I had the opportunity to try a few flavors, and I decided on a 2 Scoop of Huckleberry w/ Honey & Lavender and Cowboy Coffee. Both flavors were a little icy but clearly superior in flavor to grocery store ice cream. The unmistakable huckleberry was well-complemented by its other ingredients, while the coffee -- equipped with ground beans -- was appropriately bitter and interestingly salty. Lastly, my waffle cone was delicious and crispy. My double Scoop cost almost $8 -- far more expensive than other ice creameries around town. But the scoops were impressively large, and my friendly scoopster was certain to fill the cone fully. In all, I left a beyond-satisfied customer. If you're craving frozen dessert, you certainly won't find better in this sleepy National Park-adjacent town.

We love trying locally made ice cream. The ice cream here was not very creamy, made with lots of air and not much cream. We tried the Huckleberry Honey Lavender and the Cookies and Cream. Both were just okay.

The service was really awesome, and super friendly!! I got the Huckleberry Honey Lavender which is phenomenal if you like things on the sweeter end, and my spouse got just the Huckleberry as she doesn’t like sweet things. She honesty doesn’t like ice cream but she loved this place! Definitely our ice cream place!!

Great service and better ice cream. Not sure what people are complaining g about. My husband and I got a few samples before settling on our choices. The workers were both quick and friendly, and we had a great chat with one. We've lived all over, and this ice cream was easily on par with the gourmet shops in any major town, and the creameries dotting the smaller towns. The servings were huge, and we were extremely happy with our selections.

Convenient location for a quick ice cream as you walk along the shops! I got the huckleberry lavender honey and the cookies and cream flavors in a cup. The huckleberry honey lavender combination was brilliant and I wish more places back home offered this! It is outside so if it's a chilly day, just go step inside or sit in your car, but I'd definitely come again!

Super friendly service and yummy, handmade ice cream. They have the churns out so you can see it being made. It’s really sad to see people flocking to Hagen Dazs across the street when something this awesome is just steps away! The only thing that could make this place better would be more seating space. There were only two small tables and they got taken quickly.

You can watch how they make the best ice cream I've ever eaten, it's so delicious after all, it's so nice to cool off after a long park day by eating ice cream at a place where these staff are happy.
