What a great place, friendly staff, great food.
Stephan was our waiter. He greeted us warmly and gave us great service the whole time. We drove into west Yellowstone and decided to get breakfast. We had no place in mind, and happened onto the Black Sheep Cafe. The decor was sophisticated and very comfortable. The food was good. It was a lucky find.
Amazing place, and one of the best avocado toasts I’ve ever tried! 😋 Big shout-out to Stefan, who was so polite, friendly, and nice to us.

Black Sheep Cafe offers fantastic food and amazing staff, with warm hospitality and a dedication to traditional Navajo recipes. The menu features outstanding vegetarian options like huevos rancheros, grain bowls, and Navajo style veg tacos, while the bison burger and hog jowl tacos are must-try items. The Navajo flat bread tacos and Navajo tacos are layered generously with perfectly seasoned beans, fresh greens, and sharp cheese on flawless fry bread. A bbq bison burger is claimed as the best ever. Made-from-scratch dishes include green chili queso, breaded fried chicken with mushroom & bacon gravy, manchego mashed potatoes, orange habanero creme brulee, and cinnamon brownies. The full service bar offers great beer on tap. Service is friendly, timely, and attentive. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available with lots of options. A refreshing change of pace, definitely worth visiting.
