The food and drinks were amazing but the real star was our waiter Mitch! Mitch took the time to learn our names, made great recommendations based on our dietary preferences/restrictions, and made the experience overall a real treat. I would highly recommend Jalisco Cantina!

Fantastic food! Scratch kitchen and you can tell! The level of quality is great, homemade chips and salsa were delish, the tacos were all awesome - barbacoa and fish were our favorites. Great cocktails.
Great drinks and food. Cute outdoor seating area as well
Off the charts!! Quality food and drinks. You can taste the love that has went into every detail. If I lived here, this would absolutely be a staple!!

Good dishes all around. We all enjoyed what we ordered. They have several salsas to try, some with some night heat.

Jalisco Cantina – A Missed Opportunity for Authentic Mexican Cuisine
As someone who grew up with real, homemade Mexican food, I had high hopes for Jalisco Cantina. Unfortunately, this was one of the most white-washed interpretations of Mexican cuisine I’ve ever encountered.
What was advertised as guacamole turned out to be plain avocado mash—no seasoning, no lime, no cilantro, no soul.
The tortillas were undercooked and clearly not handmade, despite what the menu claimed. I know what real handmade tortillas taste like, and these weren’t it.
The salsa Completely flavorless. Salsa should be bold, fresh, and vibrant—this one was none of those things.
Instead of traditional off-the-cob street corn with mayo, lime, chili, and cheese, I was served roasted corn on the cob with a barely-there sprinkle of what seemed like queso fresco. Disappointing.
The pozole was the one redeeming dish—it was tasty, but still a far cry from the rich, hearty pozole I know and love.
The rice inside was undercooked and bland in the chicken Burrito and the flour tortilla tasted like it came straight from a grocery store shelf—not fresh, not homemade.
If you're looking for authentic Mexican food in Montana, Jalisco Cantina is not worth your time. It may cater to a more Americanized palate, but for those of us who know and love real Mexican cuisine, it misses the mark entirely.
That said it’s worth mentioning that the service was amazing.!

Would give 6 stars if possible. I travel for a living, eating out constantly. From the menu offering, cocktails, portions, service, ambiance, vibe & friendliness of the staff, this place is outstanding.

We had a really good feeling about Jalisco Cantina when we arrived, but it didn't turn out as well. The service was kind of slow, and the music was very loud and repetitive. When our chips and salsa arrived, we soon found out that after the top few, the rest of our chips were crumbled up pieces, which was disappointing because they were really good. Once our food got to our table, we found the rice to be undercooked and the tortillas to be bland and too thick. We finished our meal and then asked for a to go container. After waiting ten minutes, it finally was given to us. We asked for a to go container because we wanted to go, not wait and wait. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant.
Dad's opinion: Rosa's quality tortillas are a quarter of the cost. Montana Mexican food is not that great compared to Texas'. 😃
