“This was our second dinner at Fred's. The tempura tuna bites and Caribbean ceviche were delicious! Our spicy margaritas were also great! We shared the Neptune Surf and Turf - shrimp, crab legs, octopus, lobster, ribeye steak, and veggies. It was a wonderful. I don't care for octopus, but my husband enjoyed it. The crab was delicious and the lobster was great too. We also enjoyed all the butter/garlic sauces that came with. Overall, we will definitely be back and would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends!“

The grouper (fish taco) was dry but tasty. Ceviche was good but not the best we had in Cancun. It was also catch of the day (grouper), so maybe it was the particular fish not so fresh. Everyone else liked their dish (seafood fettuccine) and the free chips and dips and soup were all really enjoyable! The servers English was pretty good, and they had bilingual menus.“

“We looked for an authentic fish and seafood place and they didn't disappoint! We had fried fish, ceviche de mariscos and gratinado de camaron. Food was so plentiful, we had plenty leftover to take home. The taste was amazing, that ceviche was just perfect and the fried fish was sliding off the bones. My daughter loved her shrimp gratinada with lots of cheese on top. Everyone was so kind and friendly even though they probably stayed a bit late for us, on Christmas eve. We're looking forward to eating again here after Christmas.“

“This is a truly excellent small restaurant not to be missed when you come to Puerto Penasco. It's not the typical fried fish and shrimp that you get at so many places but a much more delicate cuisine. We started with the scallops ceviche the two excellent entrees. They serve salads with the entrees which include a delicious dressing. The only thing we missed were the cloth napkins which we enjoyed the last time we visited. Be sure to visit the blue marlin.“

The shrimp wire seemed little, it is served with 4 flour tortillas, good flavor even though the bacon predominates in the dish, the garnish was very richly seasoned.
The coconut shrimp were also good, they came with a mango sauce with pineapple and chile de arbol that gives them a sweet and sour touch.
Fish with a good amount of filling.

It has a habanero sauce that I loved, not very spicy and great flavor, I should have asked for the recipe.

“Took my Fiancé our last night for the romantic dinner on the beach for $203 ($3,500 pesos). It was magical. I knew it was going to be romantic but was even better than expected. The restaurant is closed at the time and they set up a private spot on the beach and make it so beautiful. The food and quality of service is so so good. Felt like we were in our own world. Server I believe was named Paulino and he was so friendly and catered all of our request with a smile. Attaching pics as they show more then I can explain in words.“

“It is a good place to eat and with access to the beach even though it is a little cloudy, the food is good however the tikinxic lacks more seasoning and cooking, the flank steak burger is delicious, there is a variety of drinks, the waiter is very friendly and attentive , prices are between 350-500 prs.

“Pleasantly surprised to be honest, I didn't expect a menu this good, I thought it was more “simpler” so to speak. We ordered whiting, a very delicious ceviche, not like others in that it is more onion and tomato. I caught a glimpse of some shrimp that looked spectacular, the sauces a little bland, but passable!! And we just went and there was live music, the musicians were very good and very entertaining!!

This place is a little hard to find, just a short stroll down the beach from Play el Nino, with plastic tables & chairs under 2 large tents and the sand between your toes.... (just before the overpriced and unimpressive restaurante Marvella.)

They offer the freshest seafood possible, directly from the fishermen's boats tied nearby. Their ceviche, cocktails, and whole fried fish are some of the best you'll find in Cancun and with a much more reasonable price. Beverages include beers, Mexican fruit waters and sodas.

If you want excellent, fresh local seafood, this is the place to go. A little hard to find, but worth the search.

Vegetarian options: ... not much, unless you can make a meal out of totopos.

“Among the 5 or more bars in the port, it is the only one with wooden tables and a more refined environment. The chairs are always made of plastic and the view is on the starting point of the boats. But it's an authentic place frequented mostly by Mexicans. The food is excellent and the service is attentive and very welcoming.
