$55 for 2 ho hum lunch bowls?! We can't afford to dine out often so we choose carefully & expected something more from 540.The chicken souvlaki bowls turned out to be a bit of shredded iceberg lettuce, white rice (was it really basmati?), onions, a FEW pieces of chicken, cucumbers, generic tzatziki. The cherry tomatoes were nice but it was pretty much what you would find at any souvlaki takeout. My advice - work on a reasonably priced lunch menu with some seasonal offerings. Why not an interesting soup of the day etc? Pretty disappointed.

I ordered the lunch special advertised as a soup and grilled cheese. What I received was a completely different sandwich. When I brought this to the staff’s attention, they acknowledged that the special had been listed incorrectly, yet did not offer a refund or gift card despite my explaining that it was not what I wanted and that I no longer had time to wait for another item due to how long the order had already taken (despite there being no one else at the restaurant).
When I clarified that I would not have ordered the special had I known it wasn’t a grilled cheese, I was asked whether I was vegetarian, implying that this was the only possible reason I wouldn’t want the sandwich provided. The entire interaction came across as dismissive and unprofessional.

Ordered nachos without any peppers. My husband picked up the order and brought it to the table with jalapeños peppers on it, not knowing that I ordered it without. When I took it back the cashier he said oh ok, I will pick them off for you. I said I don’t think so and requested a new order. I did receive a new order after asking but I found it disgusting that he offered to pick off the peppers and didn’t offer a new order.

Look food is okay, I thought the fried chicken sandwich is great and fries were delicious. But for the price you're paying, it does not match the quality you get. It's good but not that good. That fried chick sandwich with fries should be MAX $12 even less to be honest. Save your money and grab some cheap takeaway to eat at picaroons.

Amazing food and place to enjoy it by the water! Right near the bridge also.
The food was unique from other places and had delicious sauces. The pulled pork sandwich and burger were sooooo good!!!
Mixed with the brewery beside this is a staple stop on a trip!

Crowded, noisy, barking dogs in the eating area, overpriced and underwhelming food. Also, please don't ask for tips if the food needs to be picked up by the customer - especially using a buzzer pick-up system. If this were dine-in with table service, asking for tips would be warranted, but this is overreach on top of an already expensive meal. It's disappointing for a first visit impression.

Seemed like a nice place food looked like it may be above average bar food, but we were disappointed, the food was pre made and reheated. we had chicken wings that if not for a sauce would have been dry and tasteless. Also shared a chicken souvlaki bowl, basically dry under seasoned chicken over wilted lettuce and overcooked rice, covered in a sad cream sauce.Should have taken the hint that no one was eating just drinking.

The food was phenomenal in the past but in the last year or so it has really taken a dive.
I'm not sure what changed in the kitchen at this location but aside from the great view and beer, it's hard to recommend 540 North these days.
The staple burger on the menu, The North Burger, has changed dramatically and is certainly a lesser version of it's past self. Smaller, drier, and bland. The menu changes with the seasons and I used to be excited for that, now it's a dreadful "what else can they ruin or remove from the menu?"

A nice little place by the St John river attached to the Picaroons Brewery . There is an indoor and outdoor seating area. It was a beautiful day so we chose to eat outdoors. After ordering our food at the counter, we chose a table in the shade and waited for our buzzer to go off. I enjoyed the "feels good" salad bowl with bacon. So good! There is a separate shop for Picaroons. Afterwards, a stroll across the walking bridge with lots of photo ops. Several nice looking gluten free options on the menu. This place is also dog friendly so we got to see other folk's furry friends.
If I am in Fredericton again this will be a must-stop.
Dietary restrictions: Several gluten free options on the menu
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible, nice and flat.

We parked the yacks on the bank and got takeout from here today and Oh my goodness it was soo yummy! I got a veg salad with roasted chicken and a maple/lemon dressing that I loved!! He got the pulled pork sandwich with spiced fries and says that was delicious too ? our portion sizes were huge and very fresh. The pickles will have to be a tasty bedtime snack!
The food is delicious I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch by the river.
Parking: Lots of parking on the water LOL!!

Haven’t been to the other 540 locations, but the food at this one was uninspired, mediocre, and took forever. It was packed at Picaroons and we did expect a wait but it was over an hour for the 3 of us. It was bland and boring and hardly warm, not to mention expensive. Would go back for beers and to hangout but would skip eating here. To be clear, this is not a review of the brewery.

Food is way over priced for the quality. It tastes ok but Id rather eat at home and then go for a beer and walk.

540 is easily one of my favourite places to dine around Freddy. Their menu is always changing with the season which brings a lot of variety.
Parking: There are parking lots as well as street parking along Union Street. It can be difficult to find parking during peak hours (it’s quiet a popular spot)
Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome.
Wheelchair accessibility: The roundhouse / 540 North is very accessible
