“Where do I start!? I called ahead to ask about gluten -free vegan options and let Jenny know I have celiac disease and WELL DONE. I arrived, my waitress already knew of my dietary restrictions which RARELY ever happens and reiterated all of the options we could have just as Jenny did over the phone. I instantly felt well taken care of.
Needless to say with that statement alone I did not get sick.
NOW, let’s get to the dining EXPERIENCE.
A fantastic immersion of Asian fusion taste in almost every beautiful dish we could enjoy.
We started with the waitress recommendation of the house pickled veg - cauliflower, carrot, peppers, jalapeño and onion. Perfect crunch to pair the golden coast craft cocktail which was beautifully sweet, salty and a kick of spice on the rim.
Our first plate arrived shortly after which was the cauliflower- ketjap manis vinaigrette, pickled chilis, cauliflower puree and OMG it will be living in my dreams until I return.
Whoever created these dishes knows exactly how to layer umami, sweetness and spicy PERFECTLY. I AM STILL SO IMPRESSED.
BUT, it doesn’t stop there.
Next we had the roasted sweet potatoes- salsa macha, sour cream, green onions WHICH THE CHEF MADE VEGAN SOUR CREAM because we had called to book a reservation. And when I tell you the potato was PERFECTLY tender.
There was a smokiness, a creaminess, a tanginess. MY GOD the LAYERS.
This was one of the most fantastic dining experiences I have had since moving from the GTA.
Safe to say I was well taken care of BUT THE FOOD, will have you coming back again and again.
