I have been to many steakhouses in many places, this place is a gem, had a wonderful ribeye, the risotto was phenomenal, the au poivre was as good as any I've had and the brocollini with the balsamic was outstanding. Best place for a steak in New Brunswick hands down worth a drive up to Fredericton for.

We are so pleased with Maxwells! We had our wedding reception at the Crowne last year, and were obsessed with the food then, but hadn't had a chance to have the full experience at the restaurant until our first year anniversary. From the moment we entered to the moment we left we were in awe of this restaurant. Our waiter, Gio, was warm, kind, attentive and funny. He made excellent wine suggestions, and even offered to take our photo to mark the occasion. We truly enjoyed his energy, and enthusiasm for the work he does. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm, serene, romantic and a wonderful blend of new and old. The lighting was softened, it wasn't too loud, and when we were seated our table had a very comfortable leather love seat on one side and 2 chairs on the other. My husband and I sat side by side for hours as if we were home on our own sofa drinking wine, laughing, and enjoying food. The food was incredible. We both had steak that was cooked perfectly to our liking, well seasoned, and the bordelaise and bearnaise sauces we ordered as an accompaniment were the best we have ever had. the pomme puree was so delicious and cheesy that when you lifted your fork it even had a cheese pull, the broccolini with balsamic and chilli oil was such a surprising blend of flavours that I would never have thought to pair, but it was incredible and the spice did not overwhelm the dish. The miso brussel sprouts with bacon were surprisingly one of my favourite parts of the meal, my husband who doesn't like brussel sprouts, even loved him... so, very high praise! They were slightly sweetened, but with the beautiful depth of flavour that bacon gives the every dish, perfectly textured, and slightly crispy on the outside. The steak and potatoes were so good that I was able to polish off an entire 14oz ribeye by myself, which for me is a huge achievement, but the vegetables were so good we took them to go. This is hands down one of mine and my husbands favourite restaurants!

We were there to celebrate our anniversary and our server, Gio, was fantastic. He was attentive but didn't make us feel rushed. He was very helpful with his suggestions and his drinks were amazing. I would give him 100 out of 10. We will definitely request to be seated in his section when we go back during the holidays. Thank you, Gio for making our anniversary special.

The steak was cooked exactly as requested. Excellent seasoning. The Maxwells BBQ sauce was very tasty.
When we walked into the restaurant, we were so excited. The ambience was lovely and we couldn't wait to get to our table and have a look at the menu. I was incredibly disappointed that there were no coolers or seltzers available on the list of alcoholic drinks, and when I asked our server, he looked at me like he had no idea what I was talking about it all. We waited about 15 minutes before we were even given a glass of water and the dining room was probably only a third full. When we did get our food, the server never returned to see if everything was OK or if we needed anything. My water glass was never refilled and that was my only drink that I had. He cleared our dishes and did not ask if we wanted a desert menu or coffee. He was chatting with the girls behind the bar for a good 10 minutes or more before he returned to our table and when he asked if we wanted dessert, we were so frustrated that we said no it was time to leave. He was a terrible server did not make any attempt to try to be friendly or to get to know us. It was a really disappointing experience.

I couldn't be more pleased with my decision to treat myself to a delicious steak at maxwells for my birthday. The reviews are correct, the food was amazing and waiting times were very appropriate. I enjoyed my steak while I watched the sun set on the patio and I would highly reccomend it to anyone in fredericton wanting to treat themselves or their special someone for a fancy dinner. Thank you for making my meal enjoyable!
