Char And Chowder Reviews
Great experience at Char & Chowder this afternoon! Friendly staff, great food! Recommend:)
We hired Char and Chowder as the caterer for our wedding.
They certainly did not have an easy job, as they had to design a menu that accommodated a wide range of tastes, from foodies to "meat and potato" types. I made reservations to have dinner here after our elopement ceremony for 8 guests total. After my ceremony we headed over to make our reservation and was met with a closed sign and a locked door. I guess they changed their hours and didn’t care to make me aware that they were canceling my reservation. It was very disappointing but we didn’t let it ruin our day and after a short wait another restaurant was more than accommodating on such short notice

Char and Chowder is a lively restaurant celebrated for its smash burgers, including a double smash option, and its popular lobster roll. The menu offers a selection of dishes, with the chowder being a must-try. Visitors can also enjoy wood-fired pizza on Wednesdays, adding to the variety. The atmosphere is fun and energetic, with helpful staff and a good selection of wines and cocktails. The restaurant features an inviting outdoor venue, enclosed for a cozy dining experience. Customers have praised the high-quality food, especially the lobster roll, which can sell out quickly.
The restaurant has been described as a jewel in a very old town, with a new style and fantastic foods and drinks. The chowder served here is noted as exceptional, making it hard to find a comparison elsewhere. Guests have also enjoyed handcrafted drinks made with local ingredients, including a strong Moscow mule and local beers like Gahan blueberry ale from PEI. The service is fantastic, with thoughtful touches such as providing water and treats for dogs.
While the menu may have limited choices, the unique venue and great staff contribute to a warm, enjoyable ambiance, making it a popular spot for different occasions.
