“Moonshin’Hers is superb. My wife and I have been lucky to have tried some of the best restaurants in major cities in North America and Europe. We discovered this place while on a fall road trip through the Maritimes. The night before we had tried one of the top-rated restaurants in Quebec that is famous nationwide. Moonshin’Hers outdid that Quebec belle by a country mile. Here in northern NB we found cooking that ranks above almost all other places we have tried in Canada. It is not an extensive menu, but it is a focus on great flavour and freshness. Plus, it’s located by a craft brewery and the brews are excellent. The service is blue chip (thanks Jaymie!) and the atmosphere and decor reflects the fascinating history of this beautiful Saint John River region. (Wait until you see the pictures of “the Al Capone of Madawaska.”) Here is a toast to the Moonshin’Hers smuggler ancestors who reflect the entrepreneurialism and joie de vivre of this region!”

“We arrived just after opening. The spot was empty so can't comment on atmosphere. Our server was friendly and efficient. We ordered 2 tacos, pork belly and shrimp. They were tasty and well priced. We also had chorizo queso. The queso could have been served warmer, and the chorizo didn't add anything to the dish. The Tortilla chips are good. I wouldn't order this dish again. We also had the birria burrito. It was really good, and had a nice crispy cheese exterior. Being birria I expected a consomme to dip but it didn't come with one. Overall, I wouldn't consider this an authentic Mexican experience but for the type of place it is, I did enjoy the food overall.”

“We were staying at the Best Western Plus just a few mins away & decided to try this restaurant for supper. We had Salt & Peper Wings sauce on the side & Royal Hawaiian Pizza, we asked for both well done. The food was awesome, very pleased. They weren't overly cooked as one might think. Jessica our waitress was very friendly & helpful. We will defiantly be stopping in again. The restaurant was very clean & not crowded.”

“Stopped in passing thru town. Have been to the Moncton and Saint John locations in the past. This one was most likely amazing in its day, however the seating was sort of in need of repair, the floor was carpet and extremely dirty. The staff however, were all super friendly and efficient. The food was just ok compared to the Moncton location. The selection seemed more limited and not as fresh. My partner who had never been to a MLQB before, absolutely loved it. The desserts looked absolutely delicious,and I loved that they had sorbet for dessert.”

They were literally dripping, leaving half pretty soggy.”
