“This was our second visit to Magnolia 23. Both experiences have been excellent. First time we ordered chicken and dumplings they are best I’ve ever had! Today I tried country style steak wife ordered fried chicken both very good but I prefer the dumplings better then my grandma’s. Sides are always delicious collards and best potato salad in NC Desserts blackberry cobbler and persimmon pudding Excellent. Don the owner takes time to visit with his guests and treats everyone like family We travel from Hickory to Chapel Hill frequently In the future we will stop here for our lunch.“

“the vibes here are great, i love the indoor seating. very southern and homey. i LOVED that they have a biscuit maker just making biscuits behind a glass panel in a kitchen. i think the biscuits were average, they were really thin and i personally like a thick and fluffy biscuit. however, their blueberry muffins were to die for. they are served warm and are SO moist. i would have gone back for seconds. i don’t know if it’s the butter or what but i plan to try and recreate them soon. coffee was decent. my mom loved the country ham and my dad loved the hash brown casserole, very cheesy! overall i’d eat here again.“
