I'm from Maine and i don't know jack about what Mexican food should be, but i sure know what I like because I go back to Benji's as often as I can when I'm in the area. Whenever I eat at Benji's i notice that most of the customers look Hispanic or local and regular. Seems to me that everyone else there loves the food too. Enough said.
Have eaten here several times in last months. Have gone with different couples, friends. Everyone enjoyed their food. My guy likes the very generous seafood fajitas, another the steak fajitas. Always order guacamole to start, even though the chips and salsa automatically delivered to table will be refreshed upon asking. I like fish tacos or quesadillas. Simply stated, Benji's is my favorite place to eat in the Sandhills, and we've been here for 25 years. My wife and I absolutely love the food here. It's authentic Mexican, better than anything we've eaten when on our trips to the border region of Arizona and anywhere else.
