The lighting is low and very private. The wait staff must go through extensive training. They all work together in sync. Top notch service!!! The artichokes were absolutely divine! Arrived at the table still on fire!! Deviled eggs we're great but $14 for 4, kinda crazy nothing super memorable. The steak noodle salad was HUGE and plenty to share. The steak was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Shrimp & Grits were a huge surprise. They were exceptional. Shrimp weren't overcooked at all, which is unique and nice. Grits were creamy, well seasoned and the sliced asparagus in the creamy gravy was almost too good to swallow. All together, seasoned perfectly!. Will 100% get again.

I’ve eaten at 131 Main many times over the years and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The dishes are consistently excellent and the setting is lovely, which is exactly why I was so disappointed by my most recent interaction with their management. We tried to make a reservation for a party of 12 and were immediately told by the manager that they only accept reservations for up to 6 people. When we politely asked if we could make two separate reservations for 6 and be seated at neighboring tables, he flatly refused, saying it was “their policy” and that he wouldn’t allow it. He then suggested that if our entire group of 12 needed to dine together at the same time, we should simply go elsewhere. The manager’s rude and inflexible attitude completely ruined what should have been a simple booking process. His complete lack of willingness to accommodate a loyal customer group was shocking and unnecessary. Because of this experience, I will never dine at 131 Main again, regardless of how good the food is.

Our go to restaurant, when in the area. Food is consistently good. My fish was done right. The salad was excellent.
Our difficulty was that after a wonderful meal, that I ordered the banana cream pie for dessert. I ordered the pie because I wanted the silky essence of a cream pie. What was brought was a endowed pie with all add ons. All I wanted was a slice of ambrosia, what came was over the top with Carmel sauce and chocolate sauce, with chocolate bits in the crust. Just way over the top for what I wanted. I suspect it was perfect for someone who wanted to be showered with everything.
Other then the pie , we will come back for another wonderful meal.

She accommodated my allergies and coordinated with the manager and gave all the best recommendations. I will be coming back to celebrate another special occasion if I find myself there! Had a late lunch today celebrating my birthday at 131 Main at Biltmore Park. Over the 13 years we have lived in Asheville, they have become one of a few restaurants on our short list of favorites.
The host staff were prompt and welcoming. The servers were quick to take our drink order and we weren’t stuck wondering when/if we would be noticed, which we appreciate. I chose the Dirty Tito, a perfect dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. My husband chose a Kolsch draft, which was good but is our only real suggestion for improvement, a better tap beer variety.
We had their amazing artichoke appetizer, grilled to perfection, followed by their warm hand towels for clean up, which is such a nice touch. For the main event we shared the rib entree perfectly prepared. Then to our surprise the wait staff offered desert choices on the house for my birthday. We chose the banana cream pie which came complete with a birthday candle 🤗.
From start to finish this meal was the perfect elevated dining experience and we can not say enough great things about 131 Main ❤️.
