Yummy food but nothing amazing. The artichoke dip was delicious but it still seemed like paying $18 for it was too steep. The chicken confit was also very good though nothing particularly memorable. The shrimp sandwich was great, but we wished we e had gotten it with sweet potato fries but they were out. All in all a yummy dinner but nothing I’d gush over to a friend.

Superb service from a 1st time waiter. We were initially taken aback by the seemingly limited menu , most of which were GF , but our food choices were mediocre in taste. The ribs were really good, and sweet potato fries were excellent. The egg yolk dip for asparagus was questionable.

These gentlemen have now been in business for 14 years. In the restaurant business that is termed a success, because 80% of restaurants fail within 5 years. Give them a try, tasty food, great cocktails, high standard wine list, and excellent service.

I really want to like Avenue M. The ambience is nicely upscale for Asheville in general and North AVL in particular. Service was friendly and allowed for a relaxing dinner with friends. But my tofu noodle dish was fairly tasteless and the catfish was okay at best. Wine is a bit pricey, too. I'll probably be back, but will try something else.

So great to have a restaurant nearby that offers consistently good food, great service and fair prices. Part of me hopes it doesn't get discovered and become innaccessible :-)

We had mixed feelings about Avenue M. The hot cheesy artichoke dip was one of the best things we've ever eaten and worth a trip no matter what else. I would definitely go back for that. I had the smash burger and my husband had chicken wings (we had some difficulty finding something enticing on the very small menu); they were good and acceptable but that's about it. The ambience is one of those (now outdated) industrial style restaurants which I find cold and noisy when crowded. Service was very attentive.
Avenue M is a perfect neighborhood restaurant – they have something for everyone and all of the staff (including the owners!) are incredibly friendly and accommodating. I have always been promptly seated as a walk-in and love the seasonal menu and drink specials. Dog friendly indoor patio is a huge plus!

My husband and I had a great dinner at Avenue M last night. Rob had the grilled squid risotto and I had the chicken confit…both delicious! Their service is always wonderful. They have an extensive wine list and inventive cocktails. Ave M is one of our favorites. In a “foodie city”, that’s saying a lot! We are always greeted like old friends, including (or especially) our pup Mavis!

My lentil burger was absolutely delicious, and my dining partner's Smashburger was delicious too! The best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Our server was wonderful! Check out Avenue M.

First visit , good parking behind the building. Pleasant setup, the splitting of the openspace building with 2 interior walls helps keep down the noise and provides an intimate atmosphere. I had the Carne Asada and all ingredients were fresh and tasty, The skirt steak - medium rare and thinly sliced could have been a bit warmer . My partner had the cornmeal fried catfish and both taste and texture were excellent.
