I rarely write reviews but I had to share how incredible our Sunday brunch was today. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. I got a burrito bowl with tinga chicken and it was covered in very flavorful chicken. For me it was enough for two meals and I took half home. The homemade queso and guacamole were incredible, the best I’ve had since I lived in Texas. Service was great.
Beautiful restaurant, creative drinks, nice staff, delicious food - we ordered vegan options, thanks. Portions are generous. Hope to revisit.
Mountain Madre is excellent! The food was prepared perfectly, the service from Sid was excellent, the atmosphere is very well done. Great to have a local Mexican restaurant on Merrimon Ave that checks all the boxes. Highly recommend.

Mountain Madre Mexican Kitchen & Agave Bar North AVL is a very well decorated space with a fantastic and nice atmosphere. The food is good Mexican food, with dishes like chicken tacos all made with fresh produce and beautifully prepared. The rice and beans are sooo good and not an afterthought. The house margarita and margaritas are great. Service is great with a great waiter. It is a good place for a big party and is great for kids. However, it is very, very loud inside and can be pretty pricey, with chips and salsa extra. Crowds form after 6pm. The renovation is nice, transforming the space from its previous incarnations into a vibrant community restaurant.
