Support this business, they are worth it!Shanna did a great Lakers / Kobe cake for my 13 year old most recently and we ate every bite.

This place has the most delicious cakes ever! Visiting for the weekend and wanted to patronage a black owned business and AVL Cake Lady did not disappoint. The owner was very personable. The Sweet Potato Pound cake and the Strawberry cake was sooooooo good, my husband and I went back the next day. Next time I'm in town, this is a guaranteed stop.

I got a chocolate cupcake yesterday. First time at this bakery. I was very disappointed with the taste and texture. I assume that they were going to be made with some quality ingredients like real butter. I ended up spending $4 including a tip for this small cupcake that had a list of disappointing ingredients. The worst of them being partially hydrogenated oil (trans fats).Also for this price I would expect the cupcake to be freshly baked but it tasted it as if it was sitting in the bakery case for a couple days. I spoke with the owner before writing this review and they refused to refund me unless i drive all the way back across town with the $3 cupcake. The refund would have maybe covered the gas money to drive there and back. How frustrating!

They don't use butter but the owner lied to me saying that they do. There are bakeries in Asheville that have fresh daily-baked cupcakes with real cream and butter and they charge the same price! I do not recommend this place :(

I won't be back. I got my first cupcake and it did not taste fresh. I didn't realize it until I had gotten home but the ingredients are of very low quality and I could tell after tasting it. The owner would not allow me to get a refund for the cupcake because I didn't save it and drive it all the way back to the bakery with it. I would not recommend this bakery. I have had better quality cake at the grocery stores here.

The best cake in Asheville!!! Great customer service and absolutely delicious cakes. Her decorating is amazing as well, she even added some extra flourishes that my girlfriend loved!! Will be getting all my cakes from her now.
