Visited in October 2014. We skipped the food and headed straight to the bar, where a flight featuring local brews was available. The selection was quite nice, the service was satisfactory, and the beers were quite good.

The individual who was bartending up stairs at 4pm on Saturday March 9th was unbelievably unprofessional. In an empty bar we had a group of 15 and he couldn’t be more bothered to serve us. We left after a couple of drinks because the bartender made it so unwelcoming. Poor service and rude workers, would not recommend.

The new menu is great. The meatball sub was delicious and so was the salad. The hosts were a little too under dressed and not very friendly though out waitress was great and did a wonderful job. Good beer selection. Hope they can get their liquor permit sometime to accommodate those that don't drink beer/wine. A staple in Asheville for sure.

I've heard this place was haunted. I didn't think so until I got my plain cheese pizza, only to find half the cheese missing. The ghosts must love cheese ? all joking set aside, I love this place! It has good food as well, and pool tables. I went to the top floor, as this is the part of the bar that's open until I think 1am. This is the floor with the pool tables.

went to Barely's based on a recommendation from our hotel staff and was pleasantly surprised. The menu is straight forward with some really premium twists. The wings and garlic bead appetizers were really good as was the pizza and sandwiches. Staff was really friendly and efficient. Highly recommen.

I don’t normally post reviews, however I wanted to for this experience. We were visiting from Charotte and had to cancel an airbnb due to maintenance and frozen pipes. Disappointed and searching for a place to stay, we stumbled into Barleys, which looked very inviting and cozy inside, being that it was freezing cold in downtown.The staff had no idea the disappointment we had experienced prior to entering their restaurant but they literally changed our evening with their food, beer (unexpected free beer on the house), and warm hospitality! I bought a mug to always remember our pleasant experience. We now refer to Barleys as “our place.” We’ll be back.
