The food and drinks were 10/10. Our server was not so great. They came up and said they had two baskets with lamb and I said I got lamb. When I bit into it, it was definitely chicken. I asked her about it and she told me it was chicken and she claimed I said that. I did my best to be kind but she told me I had to give my food to someone else at the table that actually ordered it and she would get the lamb. This is not food safe. I could not believe she expected me to give food I had already bitten into to another customer. I was willing to eat it if she already gave mine away so not to waste food but she didn't want to hear it. She was a bit too aggressive and claimed it was all my responsibility. I expect better from a food safe. As someone who is certified food safe for work, this was unacceptable. Im not sure i will come back.

We went there, tried ordering food. The clerk told us we needed to be seated before we order and the restaurant was full.
We waited quietly, and when a table was available, went and sat at it as told. One of us went to fromtdesk to order food.
I stayed at the table, and a tense worker with a forced smile on her face came to me asking a few questions. The gist is:
Did you order food?
We're ordering.
Is the person ordering the first in line?
No, but we were here before anyone else in line. We were told to sit down at a table before we order.
You can't sit here because you haven't ordered yet, you need to go.
So to recap: we can't order until we sit at a table, but we can't sit at a table unless we order.
Also the worker, who seemed to present herself as the manager, adopted the coldest, most disagreeable tone you can imagine. It was bordering on antisocial behavior
We decided to leave rather than to put up with this shameful behavior.
We had sworn off all Chai Pani locations long ago, before they had won their James Beard, due to their rude attitude. We tried today to go past our bad experiences and give them a FOURTH chance. Our experience got only worse.
Something is obviously very wrong in the Chai Pani work culture.

I have frequented Boti for the past year and a half, and I have always loved the food and vibrant atmosphere.
Recently, I have had some negative experiences with the employees - but last week was the worst yet. I got my usual, the tikka rice bowl, and I ate most of it only to eventually bite down on something very hard and sharp. Luckily, I was able to spit it out and found that it was a burnt wooden skewer. I brought it to the cashiers attention only to be rudely dismissed and told something along the lines of “yea sometimes that happens”. I was in pain and did not feel comfortable eating the rest of my bowl. I don’t expect any handouts, but this seems like something that should have been handled with a little more grace, especially from an employee of the Chai Pani group.
