We went to this other French-American restaurant (Isa's Bistro), and they didn't have Creme Brulee...so, we ended up here afterward to order JUST the Creme Brulee. First of all, the place was very small, with this caved-in feel...a very grungy, dive-like ambiance. I felt quite claustrophic. Also, they didn't have the A/C on, so it was quite humid in there. Sadly, things didn't get any better. One of the best thing about the brulee is the glazed crust...and well, their version was just slack, in that only about a third of the top was glazed! HUH?!? Plus, they used this thin slab of Orange instead of the usual Blueberries or Strawberries...making the dessert have this Yellow on Yellow type presentation. Not appealing at all...at least to me. Initially, I thought we'd wait...and get our waitress-bartender to send it back to the kitchen to get it glazed fully. However, we just couldn't get her attention...so we just ended up eating it. I did, however, decide to bring up this issue...after getting the hostess to literally grab our server! I just felt that something this slack should be pointed out. Since we did eat some of it, I didn't ask for a redo or anything like that...but simply telling her that I wanted my feedback to go to the kitchen and the manager. In any case, she didn't bill us for the dessert. I thought that was the right call. From the grungy ambiance (with no A/C), to their botched dessert, I just can't say this was a worthy experience in the least. I totally regretted not going to Crave dessert bar instead. Lesson learned!

Charming place, great service, food was exceptional - beef bourguignon, steak au poivre. Server was helpful with wine selection and attentive in the celebration of our silver anniversary.

Absolutely fantastic french food. We started with the french onion soup and house bread. Bread comes with plenty of butter and is lovely. French onion was flavorful and a great warm up to dinner. Bread plays double duty here helping sop up the onion. Chicken cordon bleu was immaculate, probably one of the best dishes I've ever had. Similarly the pork tenderloin was sublime, sauces for both highlighted the well seasoned meat to perfection. Reservations recommended. Portions are a good side which i always worry about with French places, but Buchon has it figured out! French fries are also delightful

My 9 year old daughter wanted to try French food on her spring break. She loved the mussels and fries. It was a great meal together and something she will always remember.

Wow. Is all I have to say. The food was a mic drop. My husband and I were blown away by the flavors. You could taste every level of the food ingredients. My pregnant belly was very happy! We highly recommend the escargot appetizer, the duck entree and chicken cordon bleu entree. We both agreed we haven’t had a meal this good in a while. And we actually didn’t leave disappointed in the price of food for once!

We ordered beef, steak, chicken, fish, and pork dishes and three desserts. All were delicious, nothing left on the plates literally. Service was attentive, friendly and polite. Casual ambiance with focus on the quantity of food. This is our third visit.

We had dinner here last Thursday, it was packed, we got an excellent view of a leaking dishwasher. Service was very good, food was just mediocre. Steak was tough, quiche was terrible, tasteless and watery. Fries were very good. So many wonderful places in Asheville, maybe it was just an off night.

Mussels, Frites, Steak, so delicious. Love the atmosphere too. No wonder this place has been an Asheville staple for so long.

A cold and rainy Spring night but a lucky one for us as we finally managed to dine at Bouchon and without a reservation! Place is dim (very French!) but super breezy with aircon and fans (very in French!). Food is great from shareable salads to mains through to desserts. A tad disappointed not to have daily specials on chalkboard like they do in France. But great frites and medium rare steaks cooked perfectly (hard to find in the US)! We will be back!

Perfectly friendly staff. We sat at the bar. I was able to try the fries, mussels, and beef bourguignon. All of them were excellent. Considering how far we live, I had to find a similar recipe when I got home.

The food is just okay… not extremely amazing as I thought it would. I may be a slightly picky eater, but last time I ate we had around $40 per person. I would say the food is not worth 40 but more like 30. Good atmosphere though.

Yummy French food! This was the only place we visited while in Asheville. Can't wait to go again!
