While I understand the staffing shortage, the need for better communication is needed. I had out of town visitors and made reservations well ahead of time only to find out that they closed do to staffing shortage when we pulled up at restaurant. I had to call restaurant for the reservations because we were a party of six, I did not receive any call or email for cancellation. As you could imagine, finding another restaurant on a Saturday night was impossible. I’ve eaten here numerous times and enjoyed the meal, I’ll think twice before going back.

Quiet, quaint little Italian place. Good food. Cold drinks.

Grateful that my sister's bachelorette party crew and I were able to experience the magic that is Chiesa before their temporary closure (they'll be open again starting 10/1/21). Divine modern Italian food, beautiful interior. Market mushrooms 4.5/5 Eggplant parmesan 5/5 Spaghetti with Antonina's red tomato gravy 5/5 Scallops 5/5 these melted in my mouth Tiramisu 5/5 Thank you for the celebratory champagne as well! Xo.

I’ve been to many restaurants during the last year and for the price we paid this had to be the worst service I’ve experienced. We saw our waitress 3 times, I poured every glass of wine after the first pour and the kids never had a refill. She was quick to hand me the check and even quicker to try and grab it from me before my card was even in there. The food was mediocre at best. My daughter had to literally go to the bar to ask for dessert 15 minutes after our plates were piled up at the end of the table. 2 stars only for the fact that one other waiter was kind enough to get our dessert ordered for the kids.

We went to Chiesa on a friend's recommendation when we were in Asheville, and we can't thank her enough! The restaurant feels like a cozy, neighborhood bistro. The home-made pasta and sauces were really divine, and or server clearly loves his job. We will go back the next time we are in Asheville.

First time here. Service was excellent and the owner came around to everyone's table to make sure everything was okay. Servers stayed busy even is there weren't tables to be served. For example, one person wiped the silverware. The homemade pasta and focaccia was very good, Know that they sauce (toss) the pasta in the kitchen, i.e. the pesto made the pasta look like spinach pasta when it came to the table. Nonetheless a very good meal and we will return.

Such a great neighborhood find. michael was awesome and made us feel right at home despite it being a busy night and being short staffed! Homemade orichette was awesome and the eggplant parm was distinctively unique. Don’t skip the tiramisu!

Food was very good except the pasta was served clumped together. They changed the angel hair after complaint but the fettuccini replacement was also one big clump in our plates. A shame to ruin fresh pasta. Service was excellent.

I always hesitate to write a negative review and don’t want to hurt a restaurant. We were told when we made our reservations That we had to be patient because of the staff shortages. They had already changed our reservation from 7:15 to 7:45. When we got there they were already out of several appetizers. They were out of peas for my husband’s carbonara but he told him he would accept another vegetable Which they did not put in there. Our dinner came at 9:30. I had the pasta and I added the chicken . I got two over done chickens strips. They were out of A lot of desserts. We were so disappointed because I booked this for my birthday and I had told them it was my birthday. Last year when we vacationed here we had such a wonderful experience. Nobody even acknowledged my birthday tonight. One of the other guests sang happy birthday to me which will always be memorable. I know things are hard right now with Covid and staffing. But we live in Amelia island Florida which is also a resort town and we have shortages but nothing ever like this! They never did not even try to compensate at all.

My husband and I stumbled upon Chiesa while exploring Asheville during an overnight stop on our road trip. It was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was full, however, we were able to sit at the bar. The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The restaurant is beautiful (inside and out). We shared the mushroom appetizer and the dinner special (pasta with grouper), definitely one of the best meals we've had in awhile. We can't wait to visit Asheville again and of course, make dinner reservations at Chiesa!

The appetizers (brussel sprouts and meatballs) were amazing. Unfortunately, several of us ordered chicken and it was dry. I ordered the pesto pistachio oriechette and the lemon flavor was a bit overwhelming and was oversalted. My husband had the salmon special with fettuccine and lemon cream sauce which was great.

Excellent service. Excellent food. Wonderful atmosphere. You do not want to miss this Resturant in Asheville. You will see a menu of some old favorites along with very tasty entrees that are just special and intriguing. If you enjoy the feel of a neighborhood restaurant with personal service, this is your place.

We had just attended the funeral of our beloved 97 year old aunt. It had been a somber day for us all, but in celebration of a long life, well lived our family chose Chiesa to end our day in Asheville. We chose wisely. From the greeting smiles to the last bite of dessert, the meal and service were fantastic. Our server, Mateo, was attentive, friendly and very professional. And the food!!! Wow!!! Several in our party order the salmon special with Blueberry compote served on a bed of fettuccine and were rewarded by a perfectly balanced blend of tastes. Those who ordered the “Create your own pasta dish” were equally pleased. Cocktails and wine with our meal were spot on. This is a “must visit” restaurant in Asheville, NC. Come hungry and don’t forget the bread pudding with ice cream and a great cup of coffee.
