Good Hot Fish is amazing! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and delicious. There are so many thoughtful details throughout the restaurant. You can tell how much love and passion has gone into this space. Highly recommend as one of the best restaurants in Asheville!

Seriously wow! One of the best meals I’ve had in Asheville recently. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The cornmeal breading on the fish was soooo delicious. The tartar sauce… out of this world flavorful. And the hush puppies my gosh. If I lived downtown I would be there at least once a week just for the hush puppies. Definitely adding this to my list of favorites.

The fried catfish was perfection, as were the fries, potato salad, and housemade pickles. The trout burger and mac and cheese were okay. The shrimp burger was bad; all 3 members of our party could not manage more than a bite. It was fresh and cooked well, the seasoning/flavors were just unpleasant.There are counter seats inside the restaurant and also plenty of sit-down tables and chairs next door that you can use (as long as you don’t have alcohol). Also easy to find parking in this stretch of South Slope even on a weekend.Service was excellent.Definitely coming back for more catfish!

Excellent food! The friendly staff answered our questions and served the salad chilled and food hot. They were good portion sizes and the flavor - unique, delicious - a party in my mouth. I will definitely go back.

The food was delicious! Ordered the fish sandwich and the salad. So many fabulous flavors! Greens were fantastic as well. Hush puppies were unlike any others I've had and so great. Team were so friendly and explained all the menu options.

I am so incredibly thankful that we popped into Good Hot Fish. It was probably the best thing that I ate in Asheville. If I could eat it every day, I probably would. My sandwich was excellent. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a friendly employee. She made some recommendations. The seating indoors directly in the restaurant is limited, but there is an area connected where you can also sit. it is another room. There are also a few seats outside. I would've sat directly in front of where the counter is, but those seats were taken. I love the decor. The bathroom is pretty epic. See attached video. When we are in Asheville again, I will definitely return!

The food was served piping hot and loaded with flavor. Both the Sweet Potato Pancake and the Shrimp Burger were off the chart in terms of interesting flavors. The Mac and Cheese was perfect. The facility is sparkling clean and the staff is helpful and upbeat.

I had lunch there for the first time recently with my wife and it was absolutely delicious! I'm not really a seafood guy, but I do like trying new things - and it was a fantastic meal. I will absolutely go there again and recommend to my family and friends who like to visit from out of town.
Absolutely great food! I went with a friend and shared a couple of items. Was totally blown away by the food and surprised by the intense fun vibe.

I loved the food. It was delicious. The space is very small but the amount of decor and natural light mark up for it. I’d love to see them put some stools outside on the porch so you could sit out there.The food was really very much to my liking, except the Mac and cheese was a little bland. Everything was cooked to perfection but I do think the price would deter me from coming back again. I’d love to see just a small handful of fries or three hush puppies be thrown in with the sandwiches. I think $5 for fries and $18 for a sandwich for a total of $23 plus a tip is really expensive.But like I said the food was good. I’d just like a side to come with the sandwich.Anyway I hope they do well. Love a black owned business in Asheville. Much love.

We had a great meal at Good Hot Fish! The trout plate had a HUGE trout filet and was delicious. Not cheap, but better than any other restaurant hands down! Best Mac and cheese side. Really cheesy and piping hot. Can't wait to come back.
