The cortado with oat milk was super tasty and smooth, not bitter at all. No upcharge for non-dairy milk, either! And the morning glory muffin was excellent. So far, my favorite coffee spot in Asheville.

I can't comment on any typical drinks you would get, because we went here solely in search of bags of coffee to brew at home, which we were able to get. The employee who helped us was SO kind and patient with us as we tried to determine how much/what to get. She made our experience great! We ended up getting two bags of ground coffee for a drip coffee maker, and they were very good! I didn't notice much else, but it seemed like they had a nice variety of drink options, and they have house made syrups which is VERY important to me when getting a specialty drink (like a latte). I appreciate the kind employee and the fact that we were able to get fresh ground bags of coffee to go!
I was impressed with the ease of ordering, multiple drink and pastry options, and especially the quality and taste of both espresso and drip coffee, super chocolatey, and fruity as well! Sept 6, 2024. Very popular and majority of seats, tables were occupied while there.
Really cool standing bar, and all gender restrooms… thank you! Seems like a classic cafe that has made an impact in this part of downtown AVL.
I do know another fine barista that spoke highly about time working at Rankin Ave Hi Five coffee!! ☕️

What a fun coffee breakfast spot downtown! The lox bagel was absolutely delightful (the cream cheese spread was mixed with onions and capers!), iced mocha latte was enjoyable, and environment was welcoming and friendly. It would be a great spot to work remote or dine alone. Free parking across the street for the first hour!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting High Five Coffee and trying their seasonal beverage, the Blackberry Smash. From the first sip, I was hooked. The drink perfectly balances the natural sweetness and tartness of fresh blackberries with a smooth coffee base, creating a refreshing and flavorful experience that is both unique and satisfying.
The presentation was just as impressive, with a vibrant, deep purple hue that made it almost too pretty to drink—almost. The combination of flavors was well thought out, with just the right amount of sweetness to complement the rich coffee notes without overpowering them.
It's clear that High Five Coffee puts a lot of thought into their seasonal offerings, and the Blackberry Smash is a testament to their creativity and quality. If you're looking for something new and refreshing, this drink is definitely worth a try.

Nothing but great things to say about High Five! Great coffee and even better customer service! The place is very relaxing and quaint even with a screaming baby currently behind me as I sit down to drink my oatmeal Cortado to write this review. Nothing, not even a screaming baby, could shake the relaxing and chill atmosphere in here. I will say they are busy which is a good thing. It doesn't take long to order but there are only 2 baristas working hard behind the counter trying to complete coffee and food orders and for it just being the two of them they are doing great but just know it takes just a tad bit longer to get your order. With that said, the wait is worth it.

My wife is a very picky decaf cappuccino drinker, very picky. This is her favorite place. We drive from the SC NC border just to come here. At least once a month, we make an Asheville trip for lunch and Hive Five. There isn't a drink I didn't like from them. The cesspool of cinnamon is my go-to.
