I will need to go back to get more pictures. Great bar food, a pool table, and a photo booth. Good dive bar vibes.

The Monday night $15 beer+shot+burger and fries is hands down the best deal in town. Just go early to secure parking

Ordered the animal Frie my cook Eddy shroomed me out my mind I was seeing things flavors were popping and lights were flashing. Mushroom overload
The Malvern is back! The Lemon Pepper wings with celery and blue cheese and waffle fries on Superbowl night were excellent!
Update: the smash burger is a joy to behold, and the fries take me to a comfortable lodge high up on the mountain in the middle of winter with a roaring fire in the fireplace. Needless to say, not a crumb remained in the basket. The chef takes your enjoyment seriously and keeps it dialed in. Heart and soul.
Another update: animal style fries are kick ass
Don't underestimate the fortitude of the Corn Dog Tower. This is a serious stack of six deep fried corn dogs and a veritable mountain of parmesan fries (or upgrade to Goblin Fries.) Fortune cookies found on the top level are a great addition.
Another update: no surprise here, but the Caesar Salad with Chicken really slaps. Add a corndog and some fries, and you have a veritable feast ahead.
If you want advanced kitchen wizardry without all of the fanfare, you have the spot.

Some of the best food in Asheville. Nice little dive, too. That chef deserves recognition

Don’t go here… or do. Best smash burger around with a proper Maillard reaction. Yeah, they know what they’re doing.
Just keep it a secret between us.

Ali is one of the best bartenders I’ve encountered in 16 years of going to bars. The malvern is lucky to have her. Great service, great attention to detail, all around great bar keep. Will definitely be back

The Malvern is back to being exactly what it should have been all along and I think a lot of us missed- a good place to get good and dirty (in the best sense of the word) bar food with a side of good drink, the smashburger is perfection

Was referred here for the Corndog Tower and it was worth going out of the way for, especially after a long day on the trails. We went for the goblin fries on top, and that alone would be a hearty meal. Absolutely delicious, and the guys that greeted and treated us were warm and welcoming, quick to bring us our food, and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Great vibe all around, and I'm definitely coming back for more. It's worth noting that I'm not much for bars and I don't drink, but I felt comfortable and enjoyed myself.

worst excuse for a cheese steak I ever encountered. spent $18 on this thing and couldn't finish half of it. not sure what the 'cheese' was but normally cheese doesn't break after melting.. this was bad. im from philly but i dont need every cheesesteak to be incredible... just edible..

This place had a great atmosphere and an even better cheesesteak sandwich!
Vegetarian options: The tempeh cheesesteak was also delicious.

I got denied indoor seating with my service dog. I told the guy he’s a service dog and helps with my disability. He still continued to try to give my service animal a treat. I said sorry he’s working and took the treat myself to give to my service dog. It was my birthday too. This all happened on August 31. Please Educate your Employees to what a service animal is. Go to ADA.gove. I was really upset because I was dizzy and hungry and my service animal is a black dog. It was way too hot outside for us. The food is good. Just overly upset people were not Educated there. Left a picture of the vest he had on when we went.
