The Med was recommended by our hotel. Perhaps I got the wrong thing, but my food was fairly bland. The potatoes were crispy but unflavored. No onions, green peppers, salt, pepper. The sausage tasted homemade but again not well seasoned. If that is your jam, this place is for you!

Found this hole in the hole for the first time. Sad that I never knew about it before. Great breakfast downtown. Casual vibe but efficient service and very friendly. Eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon, biscuit all top notch. Great cold brew coffee. Reasonably priced and a great find. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip.

The food is delicious. It is a creative take on traditional breakfast, cooked well. The biscuits are amazing. We enjoyed the Pisgah Bowl, a breakfast burrito, and an omlet.

Excellent spot for a traditional “eggs and bacon” breakfast. Everyone was so friendly and the service was perfect! There were “fancier” things on the menu and even mimosas but we were in the mood for the basics and The Med was exactly what we were looking for! Thanks for a great meal.

Awesome staff and great food. The breakfast tacos, Pisgah Bowl, and fried chicken on French toast gave our family a delicious meal with options for all flavor pallets.

We stopped here for a late breakfast one day while on vacation. Someone at our hotel has suggested it. When we arrived they were super busy, which is a good thing. We only had a 10 minute wait. They take your phone number and let you know when the table is ready. It's a very cute diner atmosphere. We each had coffee, shared the fried green tomatoes, ordered a taco place w/tofu and no egg and also ordered the fried chicken biscuit plate. The coffee and food were nice and hot. Our coffee was refilled as needed. I heard the chef as our server if they should put cheese on the tofu tacos, which I thought was really thoughtful bc many people wouldn't even think of asking. We would have given 5 stars, but our food was surprisingly pretty bland. The food was priced well though. We'd definitely go back when in the area.

If you want clean, fresh, not greasy diner food, this is what you’re looking for. Food was good, my portion of their breakfast hash was a bit small for me, but I also eat a lot. It’s a tasty breakfast/lunch spot.

A wonderful Diner in the heart of Asheville. Services clearly preferential towards locals but the food is authentic and wholesome. Prices have recently gone up. Two eggs, potatoes, and toast with a coffee will run you $15. If you'd like a side of sausage or bacon you'll be closer to $20.

The Med is an AVL institution and a well deserved one at that. Food is always of the best quality with a creative menu for a classic diner. The homemade biscuits are divine, the eggs expertly cooked, and the house-made sausage to die for. Also an incredible lunch. Cannot recommend this place enough. Great service too.

We stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday not long after they opened. A warm and friendly greeting and were told to sit wherever we wanted. We chose a booth and our server arrived to take our orders. My wife had the Breakfast Plate with scrambled eggs, potatoes, whole wheat toast, and a side of bacon. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the toast was thick and hearty. The potatoes appeared to be baked potatoes which had been cut into large chunks and then deep fried and they were excellent. The bacon was thick and very tasty. I had the Biscuit and Gravy with chicken and an egg over easy. It was a large biscuit, the gravy was very good, the chicken was cooked nicely, and the egg over easy was perfect. We both had water to drink and the total came to $ 32. The place had mostly filled up by the time we left and appeared to be a mix of locals and visitors. The place was very clean, there were plenty of servers, everyone was friendly and there was an easy and relaxed atmosphere among the staff. A great cozy atmosphere and the food and service were excellent.

was on tour with a band across the US, we loved to hit a diner in every city and this was our favourite out of many by far, which says a lot.

Enjoyed our brunch here! We had the veggie scramble and the Pisgah bowl. Both were excellent. The sauce with the veggie scramble was a tad spicy, so had that on the side. It had a great diner vibe, too!

As locals, we love that the tradition of the former Mediterranean Diner continues with a new vibe and menu as The Med. Hubby loves the breakfast options (served at lunch) and the patty melt (huge!). I favor the fried chicken sandwich. The place isn't fancy, but it isn't a dive. It maintains the old hole in the wall diner feel.
