“The flavor is absolutely perfect—well balanced, with just the right mix of savory, sweet, and a little kick. The noodles are cooked just right, and everything tastes fresh and delicious. This is hands-down the best pad Thai in Asheville. I keep coming back for it!“

“The food was AMAZING!! I got the chicken hibachi and my husband got the 3 Maki rolls. They came with clear broth soup and a salad. Both were super delicious! That's the best clear broth soup that we've ever had. My Hibachi chicken was tender and flavorful, plenty of veggies and I got fried rice that paired really well. My husband's Maki rolls tasted so fresh! Everything was well plated and just all around good. We have found our new favorite restaurant!“

“**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thai Pearl, West Asheville** Thai Pearl in West Asheville is an absolute delight and easily my favorite restaurant in the area! Every visit is a culinary adventure with incredibly generous portions that offer fantastic value for the price. The cool and inviting ambiance makes it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The green papaya salad is a refreshing and flavorful start, and the beef tips salad is simply mouth-watering. But the real star for me is the Thom Kha soup—rich, creamy, and packed with flavors that transport you straight to Thailand. And don’t get me started on the seafood basil fried rice! It’s a must-have every time, bursting with fresh seafood and perfectly seasoned basil. Whenever I’m in Asheville, a trip to Thai Pearl is non-negotiable. The consistent quality, friendly service, and delicious food make it a standout. Highly recommend giving it a try—you won’t be disappointed! ---“

“Tried 4 different items and they were all pretty great. Found this place walking around in Asheville and there were so many options. Food was ready in literally 10 minutes after ordering. Confused by some of the negative reviews on here, will absolutely be going back. Updated from previous review on 2025-08-22“

“I only had a quick takeout lunch, but I was definitely pleased by the Pineapple Thai Curry and its obviously high quality ingredients, skillful preparation, and the restaurant's demonstrated ability to adjust spice level to my request. I can already tell they listen to their customers, and they care about the customer experience and of building relationships. This is what hospitality in the mountains can be like when the mind is set to create a positive experience, and the work is put in to bring it to fruition. It's not handed out on a platter willy nilly. It takes talented professionals working diligently in order to pull it off. A few restaurants just get it and blaze their own trail ahead, and Chen Garden is one of those that deserves recognition for what they are building.
Edit: The Pad Thai is also unsurprisingly excellent as is their most delicious Thai Iced Tea!“

“We were visiting family in the area and they took us to Soba. On the way back home to VA we couldnt stop talking about how great the sushi was. Our waitress Bee was also amazing. We can’t wait for our next visit to go back!“

“I believe the owner of YZ Asian Market (attached to Mizu) and his brother also run this Ramen-ya! I've gone to Japan multiple times just to eat ramen there and I also make many different styles of authentic ramen myself from scratch, including the noodles. Ramen is a personal hobby and passion of mine.
So... When I say this place makes good ramen, you can trust my opinion!!
Their broth is authentic. They do it properly by boiling the bones for long amounts of time to break down the collagen which gives it that delicious flavor and renders out all that fat that coats your lips. I had the Tonkotsu, which is made from pork bones. I'm not sure which bones specifically they used, but the balance of it felt like a mixture of mostly femur and knuckle bones with some trotters thrown in for that bit of thickening from the collagen maybe?
All of the additions to the ramen were well prepared. Even the takoyaki was wonderful! Always get the takoyaki.
They make everything from scratch but the noodles. Nobody makes noodles from scratch. It's extremely labor intensive and requires special equipment. Ain't nobody got time for that!
Except me of course, but that's only because you can't get fresh ramen noodles unless you're a ramen shop. I'm also just that crazy about making ramen ;)
This place gets their noodles delivered fresh by truck from Atlanta. Forgot to ask the brand, but they taste like Sun noodles. It's always Sun noodles usually. They supply the majority of ramen shops and will actually create specific noodles for many of the shops based ingredients and hydration ratios supplied to them by those ramen shops.“
