This is one of my favorite places in Asheville. This past weekend they catered my birthday party. No one spoke for about a half an hour after the food was served because they were all enjoying it so much! Best food and nicest people!

This place just took 40.54 from my bank account for food, then didn't give me anything. I placed my order on their website, I showed up, and they told me I would have to pay them again because they didn't get my food on the site. I showed them my banking transactions, and they told me that it didn't matter that I had to pay them again to get the food. I even showed my order number, and the ONLY thing they said was that I had to pay them another 40.54 to get the food. Needless to say, they even showed me on their iPad that they did receive the order and seen my phone with the money being taken out of my account along with my order number. I'm truly in shock about their customer service.

They lied and over charged us $13.They charged us double the price for a pupusa loca, charged $4 extra dollars for an $8 plate, charged an extra $1 for pupusas AND charged us $3 for 3 cups of TAP water. Wasn't even bottled water.I questioned the bill and the guy said that the price had gone up on food but they hadn't updated their menu. When I questioned the $3 charge for water from the sink, he was embarrassed and took those $3 off. When I got home I checked their online menu. The prices were the same as the menu they gave us. Lies.The food was alright. The pupusas were good. The curtido wasn't curtido. It was more of a salad with a spritz of vinegar. For the amount of pupusas we ordered, we got enough curtido for one pupusa, not all. They also put some weird mayo-ketchup sauce on another dish. I've had this dish is many other states, never with this sauce. Maybe it's a southern thing.Overall, the only thing I would order here are the pupusas AND I WOULD CHECK THE BILL TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT OVER CHARGED.

My mom had a co-worker for years who brought homemade pupusas to work to share - they're pretty labor intensive, so I was super excited to hear this was in Asheville. Definitely worth the drive. No frills - okay. It's a stand on the side of a gas station. The pupusas were amazing!!! We got chicken (pollo) and beans and cheese, and also the breakfast baleada with avocado!! Yum! There's a giant jug of amazing spicy salsa to complement. 2 pupusas were definitely a serving. They have a list of the available fillings and they are made to order, so be patient. There are a couple of bottled sodas to choose from (sprite and coke our day).
