My mom had a co-worker for years who brought homemade pupusas to work to share - they're pretty labor intensive, so I was super excited to hear this was in Asheville. Definitely worth the drive. No frills - okay. It's a stand on the side of a gas station. The pupusas were amazing!!! We got chicken (pollo) and beans and cheese, and also the breakfast baleada with avocado!! Yum! This is one of my favorite places in Asheville. This past weekend they catered my birthday party. No one spoke for about a half an hour after the food was served because they were all enjoying it so much! Best food and nicest people!
