You know what to expect from Red Lobster, and that's what you get: Pretty good seafood-based dishes with OK sides. Excellent: Steamed lobster, cheese biscuits. Very good: Grilled mahi with cheesy sauce, carb-topped baked potato, cole slaw. Good enough: Steamed brocolli. Meh: French fries. The wine is reasonably priced for Asheville and was just fine. The service staff was friendly and attentive.

The waitress was either new and not trained or just did a poor job. One in my party asked for lime in their water and myself and third party as for water with no lemon/lime. All three came out with lime. Two ordered shrimp scampi and one ordered shrimp Alfredo. When the orders came out all three were shrimp scampi. And one was missing the side. Got that fixed, that person had to wait on their food while the other two were eating. Then we ran out of water she refilled two and then...

I wanted lobster (the real deal without being in a sauce!) and I love shrimp. I ordered Shrimp 2Ways and chose Walt's Shrimp (butterflied and fried) and grilled shrimp. Then added a lobster tail. That total was $35 which was less than most of the combo platters. Hubby had the Lobster Pappardelle pasta. His was good, mine was great!
