It ain't cheap. But it's worth it. First impression was "Wow!" this might be the coolest-looking place I've been to in Asheville. My friend and I had a dinner reservation and were immediately seated. Next time, I'm gonna show up early and have a drink at bar; it looks awesome. For dinner we started with the octopus, and I had the kangaroo steak. That's right, straight up 'roo steak, medium rare. It was amazing! Service was perfect (Thanks, Brittany!) and I can't wait to come back.

Brain B and the entire staff were terrific, the appetizers (mushroom napoleon & elk carpaccio) were light and delicious, the elk lion and scallops amazing! Brain had excellent suggestions and was very attentive to our every desire.

Amazing service and good food! Located inside a hotel this spot leans in heavy to the 'stag' portion of their name. The vibes are best described as moody vampire gets a hunting lodge! It's very plush and opulent while simultaneously having antlers everywhere. We had a reservation but still had to wait 10-15 minutes, which in my opinion beats the point of having a reservation. The service was excellent and our waiter was good about not lingering. Food- I HIGHLY recommend getting the goat cheese bruschetta as an appetizer. It was beyond amazing and I thought about fighting my husband to get the last piece. For an entree I got a steak. The sides are for the table and we got carrots and mashed potatoes. The carrots were good but the mashed potatoes were bursting with flavor! When the sides came out we laughed and said there's no way we were going to eat all of those potatoes! Seriously it was probably enough for 4 people. Well.... We ate all the potatoes and I considered licking the spoon. For a dessert we got a chocolate lava cake, it was decadent and so rich and delightful! I'm a person who loves rich things but I don't think I would've been able to eat the whole thing on my own... good thing my husband split it with me! Overall: I'd come back for the above mentioned things. The steak wasn't anything to write home about but it was still good food!

While visiting the Asheville area, we had dinner at Red Stag Grill. The server was professional and attentive. The food was excellent. My husband enjoyed the lamb shank, and I thoroughly enjoyed the river trout.

Brittany was a great server. She was super sweet, friendly and had great recommendations and pairings. Everyone's dish was superb (5 different entrees, 5 sides and 2 desserts). ? Can't wait to go with my husband sometime (and have Brittany as a server)!

Red Stag Grill was an excellent dining experience. The decor is beautiful, the service is top notch, and the food is delicious. My boyfriend tried the elk, and he loved it. The filet was very good. This restaurant offers Kangaroo as well. The entire experience was amazing. The valet was fast and friendly. They gave us water while we waited for our car. The restaurant is inside the Bohemian Hotel, which is a beautiful place in itself. As we headed out after dinner, we both stopped by the bathroom, and it was the cleanest, nicest hotel lobby restroom I have ever been in. I recommend this restaurant.Parking: You have to use the valet. All of the surrounding areas will not allow you to park in their lots. The valet is free for dining and $10 per day if you are staying at the hotel.

Must have a reservation or will be sitting in the bat which was not bad at all. Same food and think quicker service The menu does not have a large selection but some major variety for choices From elk to trout to lamb. I had the trout and the truffle fries. The trout was fantastic and the truffles fries stole the show with our table. Outstanding! The service was top notch and he was so polite and willing to answer all of our questions.

Long day at Biltmore and we stayed at the Grand Bohemian Hotel. Naturally we made reservations for the Red Stag. Absolutely beautiful and historic location. The staff as top end for sure. Brian was our waiter and took excellent care. His suggestions were on point and we ended up with an old fashioned and the perfect pavlova. Both were well crafted drinks. After such a full day we skipped appetizers but got a salad. She got the Caesar salad which had a homemade dressing and served as a heart of romaine cut in half. I ordeeed the wedge salad. To my pleasant surprise, it was a head of baby Iceburg cut in half served over a bed of mescaline mix tossed in olive oil and a touch of finishing sea salt. Topped with blue cheese crumbles, heirloom cherry tomatoes and pickled red onion. The dressing on the Iceburg was listed as a green goddess but I couldn't tell. It was just the high point of my meal! We split the Wagyu Ribeye..now.... I've had quite a few Wagyu in my life but never an American hybrid. This was hardly a prime steak. I guess for a $110 steak I was expecting A5 Kumau but was disappointed with an almost crosscut dry ribeye. Under seasoned . It doesn't come with a side so I ordered the Mac and Cheese. Cooked with Beff Belly it was great but again under seasoned. No dessert for us but for $200 I would have liked a better steak meal. We did enjoy our evening and I know my taste is not everyone's.... It was a good try once. Quite underwhelmed. Doubt we will be back.
