Brain B and the entire staff were terrific, the appetizers (mushroom napoleon & elk carpaccio) were light and delicious, the elk lion and scallops amazing! Brain had excellent suggestions and was very attentive to our every desire.
Amazing service and good food! Located inside a hotel this spot leans in heavy to the 'stag' portion of their name. The vibes are best described as moody vampire gets a hunting lodge! It's very plush and opulent while simultaneously having antlers everywhere. We had a reservation but still had to wait 10-15 minutes, which in my opinion beats the point of having a reservation. It ain't cheap. But it's worth it. First impression was "Wow!" this might be the coolest-looking place I've been to in Asheville. My friend and I had a dinner reservation and were immediately seated. Next time, I'm gonna show up early and have a drink at bar; it looks awesome. For dinner we started with the octopus, and I had the kangaroo steak. That's right, straight up 'roo steak, medium rare. It was amazing! Service was perfect (Thanks, Brittany!) and I can't wait to come back.
