Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack

Parking: I'm from California, I was just staying in asheville for a few days. This place was better than anything in the downtown areas ive had.

Chicken tasted great; had tenders and waffles. Spice level: rockys hot. FANTASTIC heat. Waffle tasted fine, nothing too special. Got fries as well, cooked nicely, a bit overly salted for my taste but not a deal breaker.

Fast service despite it being decently busy. Def recommend people check this place out for something great tasting and affordable.

Delicious fried chicken. One chicken tender is nearly the size of a small chicken breast - they are HUGE! I can only eat one.

The service was great. We always eat on the covered patio, it’s so pleasant out there.

The sides are alright - but definitely not amazing like the chicken.

Rocky's by far is the best food especially the chef salad, they make a salad the way it should be. We drive from Waynesville just to get a salad.

Great restaurant! Often the first place I take folks when they are visiting from outta town. Anything with the honey mild sauce is amazing and more than enough spice for me. Know for amazing fried chicken, but also excellent grilled chicken as well.

Such a fun place.. Love to stop in.. Great service and food.. Only downside.. the mashed potatoes and gravy were God awful gross . Not sure what was up with it.. But do not order it.. Otherwise amazing food!!

I ordered take out tonight and I ordered the same thing I always get. Three fingers,mpot and okra. When I opened my box, the first things that caught my eye was how small the chicken tenders were. Your known for how big your chicken is but definitely wasn't the case tonight. Also my mashed potatoes might as well been gravy with a little mash potatoes. It all still tasted great just a little upset I paid so much for so little.

Well, it's in the name.
First time here I wanted to try their baseline chicken, so I ordered "mild" to gauge it and it was still a little spicy (I'm not a wuss when it comes to heart, btw)

Got two chicken legs with two sides (mashed pots & gravy and the corn pudding) I've never had corn pudding before, but if that's how it's supposed to be then I really enjoyed it.

I'll have to come back and explore their menu further.

The chicken was alright, but we got the fried grn tomatoes too
They were so hard we had trouble cutting them w/ a knife
Took them home, it took 10 mins in an air fryer @ 400 degrees to make them edible
And they were around $8
Don’t order the fried grn tomatoes
Wantd to try this restaurant

Very good food! I will not go out and say the best fried chicken I've ever had but it was a great meal and hit the spot. The chicken was delicious (we got mild and medium and enjoy spicy and actually thought the medium was a bit hot). The sides were also great - highlight being the mac & cheese.
Overall, wonderful dinner experience!

Delicious. I had the mild chicken leg, fresh squeezed lemonade and the wonderful green tomatoes. The chicken was seasoned just right for my not so spicy mouth . The tomatoes were fantastic with goat cheese and peach chutney! Yum!!!
