The food and the service are great. The ambience is OK but it's just your regular looking restaurant with no particular ambience to speak of.

Came here with my husband and mother in law, and we really enjoyed everything we tried. Great sandwiches. Definitely want to come back and try some more items, including the rib eye.Wheelchair accessibility: Mother in law was able to park her wheelchair right at the table.

The food is excellent here! The burger and fries were surprisingly good. Also the dry aged steak is fantastic! Great beer selection, good atmosphere and familiar faces every time you go.

Terrible. Bob Byron & Joann Hartmann (Owners) are not interested in good customer service or hearing anything negative. They would rather tell you to go away and not come back rather than listen to a customers complaint. Read any bad review from any web site and you will see the owners just don't seem to care.. They don't want or need your business.

Rye Knot . Food is good, waiter was lovely. Owner/Manager (Joann) needs to be sent back to hospitality classes. Don’t ask a waiter to do something if you are not prepared to do it yourself. One person can ruin a business through poor decisions.I don’t even agree with the statement that “ Customer are always right”, I just always say we are blessed to have customers.Today is Monday 18th. BOGO SpecialRestaurant did not honor the special. But this was not until after the meal was eaten and was at the time of the bill coming to the table. If I had known I would have just ordered one meal.Joann could have just said something to me directly and something like:“ Good evening Sir, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Joann and I am the Owner/Manager of Rye Knott. We are so happy you came in tonight to enjoy a meal. I did notice you ordered two Meat loaf dinners. Monday nights are our buy one get one special for dine-in only. As I see you have already finished the first plate and started on the second plate we will honor the special and for next time you know. We hope to see you again soon”If you have a moment, read some of the other bad reviews. Instead of saying we hope to get another chance to rectify the situation on your next visit, the person who replies to the reviews just Attacks and has No accountability!!!JohnDine-in on Monday March 18th

We arrived a little early & they sat us immediately! The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived so they didn't mind to go ahead & seat us. Our seever was AMAZING! Explained the menu & recommendations overall awesome place to eat!

A horrible experience with this place. So many better options in Asheville. The menu looked good so my wife and I decided to check it out. The atmosphere is nice and the hostess was friendly. We ordered the Rye Knots, Brussels Sprouts, Mac and Cheese and the Reuben. The waitress must have been having a bad day because she was rude throughout our entire evening - but it seems like she takes her cues from management. The Rye Knots were decently tasty - although they failed to bring the sausages we ordered. But the giant hair baked into the bread was revolting. When we pointed it out the waitress literally didn't say a word - just picked up the plate and left. Later the cook(?) came out and said "sorry for the hairy bread" as he walked by. The sprouts were under cooked and topped by a severely overcooked and dry pork belly. How do you dry out a pork belly that bad? The mac and cheese was totally bland - I literally didn't eat more than 3 or 4 bites. The reuben actually tasted decent but everything else out of the kitchen was a disaster. They didn't even comp any of the terrible food (besides the rolls). Go to one of the dozens of other wonderful restaraunts in Asheville and not this dumpster.

While the ambience is fine (sporty and fun), it seems that someone had a field day with the vinegar in the kitchen. My beet salad was drenched in an uber-acidic vinaigrette - and really was a lettuce salad with a handful of diced beets. My partner's mashed potatoes also had a strong vinegar flavor (or something sour, at least), which was unexpected and strange. My side of smoked mac 'n' cheese and our starter of 6 shrimp (the menu said 8), however, were delicious. Drinks were tasty but rather small. One starter, two mains, an extra side, and two adult beverages put us at over $120 with tip. Don't know if we'll go back, maybe for trivia night - but we won't be ordering a meal there again, for sure.

I heard the fries were good but unfortunately didn't get to try them, despite ordering them, when I went. Ordered poutine appetizer, entrees and teas while we looked over the drinks menu. Didn't see the waitress for 45 minutes. Drank all our tea and ate the ice cubes while waiting. She finally came back to let us know our steaks would be out shortly. I asked about the appetizer and she seemed surprised and demanded to know what appetizer we thought we ordered. Told her and she said she didn't remember that but could go put it in. I told her not to bother at this point if the food is coming out soon. We had to ask for drink refills despite our empty cups being the only thing on the table. She brought me my salad, which was warm and mushy on a warm plate. At that point I asked to speak to a manager. He came over saying "So my waitress says you're mad she forgot your appetizer?" Uh no, I'm upset that I was given potential food poisoning on a plate. I asked if it was a normal procedure for caesar salads to be served warm on a warm plate? It was warmer than room temp as if it had been sitting for a while on or near the food prep area. He did apologize and get a new salad but overall I didn't care for his attitude either when he just went straight to assuming it was about a missing appetizer. I can overlook that. The empty drinks thing sucks. We both had mixed drinks picked out to try we didn't get to order cause the waitress never came back for 45 minutes. But potential food poisoning is where I draw the line. I haven't been back since and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.A review from an in-law, its enough to keep me from visiting and wasting my money. I am also sad with the management team and lastly the owner seems to need an attitude adjustment before his business and reputation tank any further. (Or whoever reads/responds to these reviews from said "rye knot" restaurant.) Asheville has a huge foodie community! Trust me when I say you don't have to settle for what's listed above! Look around, do your research and you'll find what fits you!

Went here for a birthday. Atmosphere was nice and our server Shelley, was excellent. There were several things we ordered or asked about on the menu that were out or unavailable. No seasonal soup, no root beer, no rye knots, and no fingerling potatoes. That's ok, but it seemed like a lot of stuff to be out of at 630 on a Saturday. We ordered the Brussel sprouts with pork belly appetizer, steaks and a sandwich. Unfortunately the brussels and entrees came out at the same time, again ok, but made for a crowded table, and a longer wait than anticipated. The pork belly on the brussels was cold, like just popped out of refrigerator cold. The brussels underneath were ok. The steak was not great. I'm not sure if they forgot to season it like they forgot to reheat the pork belly, but it had no flavor, outside the char from the grill marks. I had my wife try it as well and she agreed. I ultimately didn't finish it. Very disappointing. The orzo was good, and the broccoli was ok. My wife said her sandwich was good but there was too much dressing on the side salad, and said she should have gotten the dressing on the side. Overall it was pretty disappointing and I hope it was just that there was new or inexperienced staff in the kitchen. However, it won't be worth the gamble of time and money to come back.

Always good but the tomato soup was fantastic. Calling it just “tomato soup” does not do it justice!

This place is so cute! Vibe, drinks, service and food were on point. My boyfriend and I got artichokes, buffalo shrimp, a grilled cheese, a couple beers and did a flight of their spirits: the food was all very good and Joanne was the best! Highly recommend.

We've been here before and really enjoy the overall experience. My wife had the 1/2 Reuben and soup, which she said was”just right”. My burger and fries were prepared to perfection. I really enjoyed the Smokey old fashion. Owner makes his rounds making sure all was just right! Being a vet myself, I love seeing another vet doing so well with his endeavor. We will be back!!
