CJ the owner was incredibly rude to me. I asked a question about whether or not they made their cakes from scratch and he kept beating around the bush and then got very defensive with me.All of their cakes are mixed from a box and all their frosting comes from a bucket. It's expensive and my dessert was dry the frosting was almost stale tasting. I'm very disappointed and will not being giving them my business again. Dont waste your money when you can go down the street and get something actually freshly made.

Small cakes for the win! My family was staying in Black Mountain between Christmas and New Years and my husband’s birthday is on New Year’s Eve. He loves German Chocolate cake and the German Restaurant didn’t have it and the cupcake shop was closed til February. Thank you Google for directing me to Smallcakes pre ordered the night before. Order was ready at pickup time and the gentleman running counter was super nice and helpful. Red Velvet and the German Chocolate were the favorites!

Yesterday 12/12/23 I went here for the first time with a friend to catch up. The moment I walked in the smell was AMAZING. The variety of cupcakes,ice cream,etc was fantastic. CJ was great super friendly and the atmosphere was so relaxing. I definitely took some cupcakes home to my family and they loved them. I will be back to try their other delicious items. I wish I would have taken a picture of the cupcakes we got but they were so good that thought went out the window lol. Thanks again Smallcakes

This place has the best cupcakes I’ve ever tasted. Every time I’m in the area I always Stop here for a cupcake or two. The staff is very friendly, and the the cupcakes are delicious and really well decorated. If you are ever in the area you have to try this bakery you won’t regret it.

? Look no further this is it, the bakery you need and have been looking for!! Icing is flavorful and not too sweet, flavors just enough to be on point without being overpowering, cake is super moist. Friendly service. 5 star!!

They had the worst macaroons I've ever tasted. They're small and they show you the flavors that they have but only allow you to get a variety pack. You cannot pick out the flavors you want. I literally had to spit them out because they were so nasty. Definitely wouldn't suggest the macarons. Can't speak for the rest.

So disappointed because I truly wanted to love the cupcakes but they tasted like box mix unfortunately. The lemon drop needed more tang to be lemon and tasted artificial, the banana pudding was the best tasting of the bunch but still lacking that homemade touch. The hot fudge sundae frosting was sugar upon sugar (and I LOVE sugar) but it was too much even for me. Cupcakes were very moist though.
